Everybody thought that all this delay in putting LHC back into operation was due to component failure - but as it turns out it was IK Multimedia grabbing samples and impulse responses of the thingminimarx wrote:well, it's either that or CERNs Proton Smasher magnets converted to an self-oscillating frequency generator with amazing sound ... and the name of product would be : IK Magnitube

Ok here is my guess. IK is going the volterra kernal dynmaic hardware sampling route and have entered a partnership with Nebula. They will create a tape saturation based dynamic library. They will partner with squids to do the hardware sampling and will release a custom nebula interface. It will sell like mad.
If they aren't thinking like this , they should. Nebula needs a real partner to lift it up.

i wasn't supposed to tell anyone, but i've been working closely with ik on a "troll destroyer" device for sensitive musicians that get harrassed on their myspace pages. we hope that this sonic noise maker, which includes samples of my own and squids' armpit farts (oh don't worry, there are some additional armpit farts sampled from some of the greatest players in prog rock history... but we can't tell you until after the release).
also, a group buy is coming up with exclusive troll killing body noise samples by the guy that's responsible for genesis' demise (hint), but that's all i can say right now. these were ultra hard to record and took many hours of high end studio time... so, consider yourselves lucky to be able to afford this stuff for a fraction of the price that it would cost you to actually rent this guy and the studio costs involved.
i can also tell you that we will not be using the sampletank engine for these new releases. it's a whole new ballgame here. we are talking next generation armpit, opened/closed/partially closed butthole and mouth noises sampled at 384k with multiple velocity layers and keyswitching and WITH amplitube based effects included.
stay tuned. and guys... please try to keep this secret until tomorrow. this is a private party.

Well it seems that its a hardware device of some kind so I've lost interest already..
The only thing I would like to see from IK at the moment is some serious upgrades to the SampleTank line or some more T-Racks 3 modules..

I'm excited about the success of the T-Racks group buy because I'm convinced it means we will see more singles in the future. More T-Racks singles and some more Amplitube amps (I'd like to see the Rivera designed 3 channel Fender Twin amp, a Hiwatt, and the original AT2 models done over) are really the only things I'd like to see from IK. I'd actually be happy if they decided to focus on competing with Waves as a high-end effects company and ditched everything in their product line that wasn't Amplitube, T-Racks, or CSR at this point.
...from the teasers about this product, I'm not really convinced it'll be anything I'd be even remotely interested in.

I'd like to see IKMM make some DSM models for T-RackS that include things like preamp and mixbuss saturation plugins. Maybe some magnetic tape saturation models too.lotus2035 wrote:The only thing I would like to see from IK at the moment is some serious upgrades to the SampleTank line or some more T-Racks 3 modules..

Maybe Andrew meant boxed software?
