Hi DJ!
After the bug hunt I'm writing my comments incase it will be useful for you guys.
-Plug-in should open defoult like with Digital linear phase preset but phase shift is set to 100%, spectrum enabled, db display set at 12, boost/cut character set to precise.
The q values are currently huge and the different curves aren't a good starting point imho. Probably a static start when inserting and later adjusting the details would be a better workflow for this eq.
-As stated before spectrum analyzer can be improved.
-knob's feeling is a little losy. I'm using a fast mouse setting and this can be a problem when getting into details.
-When using the eq's on graphic, its easy to widen the display inside couse the (dots?) are too small.
- Cut freq.s (at least) should be optional if it will be effected by dyn. eq or not.
-Stereo, L/R, M/S option should be displayed when clicked on Stereo rather than right mouse click. Also it would be very practical if it had solo option for M/S and L/R to hear the channels separate.
- A nice hard clipper set to -0.2 db after the output could be a nice and easy addition to this eq

Hi. For starters. Even though you say most bugs are gone from RL Monitor, RL Reverb and Morgana, a month ago I tried Morgana in Reaper and it crashed it a number of times. Even though Morgana is not my thing it's a fine instrument. I can get very close results by adding that grit with the help of d16 Silvers or Sonalksis TBK bit crusher to any sound. The latest release of Monitor: still nobs freeze. Reverb still stutters when loading while playing, but not as violently as EQ, now EQ: E4000 preset just disappeared, nob freeze again. That's just 10 minutes of playing around with RL Reverb, Monitor, and EQ. What is this pushing to go online after the crash?
I'm a mobile production house. My set up is: Toshiba Qosmio G40-108 upgraded to 4GB of RAM. Brand new Vista install, fully updated and optimised for pro audio (steady as rock). Reaper 3.06 patched through Motu 828 MKIII or ASIO4ALL when on the move. Good luck. Hopefully soon I will read some great news about your plugs, like: 112db makes very stable VST's.
RL Monitor I'm not so sure. But RL Reverb and EQ are exellent sound wise.
Hope all goes well.

@sunny_j: if interested you can PM or email me for a beta build that appears to solve the SSE2 issue.
@Cooker: thanks much for the suggestions, we'll take them into consideration for sure. Note that you can easily customize the default presets library to fit your own requirements--check the manual or right click and select Preset library > Save as default presets. The knob behavior is also customizable, perhaps Circular or Circular Relative modes are more to your liking (right click any knob and select Knob Mode).
This one I don't quite understand:
@Emeth: if you experience any problems and/or crashes I'd ask you to contact us about this--we simply can't fix problems unless we know about them. That's precisely why our plugs offer to send crash reports: so that we know about problems and can address them.
As for the knobs freezing, that problem shd happen only with certain, let's say "unofficial", versions of our plugins--we now have close to a thousand customers and not a single one of them has experienced this so far. Since I assume you're using a legit demo I can again only ask you to take this up with our support so that we can troubleshoot this.
Thanks for your feedback!

Is the distortion simply like slapping on a subtle distortion pedal? In other words, does it affect all the program material passing through the equalizer, or only the frequencies changed by the user?
Is there something special about the distortion in terms of how it reacts to program material?
I think I really like this eq!
Thanks and cheers.

Not really like a distortion pedal, more like running it through a vintage piece of gear as there is no clipping going on, just additional harmonics. (I'm making this difference only so people won't think we incorporated a Metal Zone distortion into an equalizer--tube-like pedals are more in the right direction.)SongMonkey wrote:Is the distortion simply like slapping on a subtle distortion pedal? It affects all frequencies equally--at least with the Cutoff control all the way up; otherwise the harmonics are attenuated above the cutoff frequency--but (as you would expect) the harmonics correspond to the signal loudness. So the louder the more harmonic distortion. And obviously any boosting or cutting from the EQ bands will also have an effect on the harmonic distortion generated.

You know I almost bought your EQ today until I saw magically added 19%VAT just before I clicked to confirm the payment through Paypal. Could you let people know upfront what your real price is?

I think it's much more typical to list Euro prices with VAT included and let those who order from outside the EU have the VAT deducted. In my experience, the VAT is assumed for prices in Euros. I can readily understand your dismay at the added VAT.Emeth wrote:You know I almost bought your EQ today until I saw magically added 19%VAT just before I clicked to confirm the payment through Paypal. We escape the trap of our own subjectivity by

Actually that's not what's happening. We list separate prices for inside/outside Europe--the former in € with 19% VAT included, and the latter in $ without VAT (and none will be added).
What happens in your case is a glitch: the store determines from your IP address that you're outside Europe, directs you to the $ store, then (once you are finalizing your order) realizes from your shipping address that you are inside Europe after all, and hence (to compensate for this) adds 19% VAT.
Even so the bottom line shd be about the same price (in fact a slight bit lower) as if you had been directed to the correct (inside Europe) store. We handle lower $ prices to compensate for the 19% VAT. If you prefer to deal with € from the start (and have no 19% VAT added later on) contact me.
Hope this clears it up a bit.
Take care,

For Reaper users good news on their way, some importent stability improvements. Look out for & update or check beta release on 112dB redline eq forum.
Your feedback is so important to me coz I've already paid for the thing and want to make sure it works

OFFTOPIC:
Is Redline Reverb getting any updates? I just got to know some of the other redline plugs after this new equalizer and I'm having terrible issues in Cubase 5 in form of _freezing knobs_! Anytime I wiggle the decay time or other white knobs around the freeze and change into unmovable knobs. I can change the values through host automation but not with the mouse.
I'm very sad because the redline series seems very nice, especially the reverb. I'm on V64, 32-bit Cubase 5.

The solution is pretty simple: buy the plugin or at least run the legit demo version. The freezing knobs are only present in the various cracked versions of our plugins, as are various instabilities and other problems.Liero wrote:OFFTOPIC:

In the unlikely event that you are really running the demo version and have never installed a crack of our plugins before, please accept my apologies and contact us to resolve this. You would be the first though.
Thanks,

At the risk of stating the obvious, did you check that the version info at the bottom of the Redline GUI states "version 1.0.1"? Just to make 100% sure.
Thanks!
