Hey guys, I should have been working on my track, but instead, I found myself lashing the guts of this comps participators prize together!!
... have to say I'm a bit chuffed with the contraption so far!

Hi Guys,
OK, here's your first track. The unimaginatively named "Cat Food".
This is an attempt to sound a bit like LFO on their first album Frequencies from about 1990. Regardless, it's something you'll either pick up on or absolutely hate - they are a quirky sound to say the least but have my affection
Big thanks to Kriminal on this and for all his other preset work which I've often found to my liking. This has to be one the phatter bass VST's I've used.
Best of luck everyone else. I'm looking forward to hearing some melodic material from the little beastie
Cheers,
Mouxbar

I need to get some more time on this track its been fun so far. Its my first comp so I shouldn't be to much a problem for a lot of you guess. Although I will say I'm getting some nasty kicks and basses from this little kittytattiemannie wrote:Welcome to the comp pinnowj .... best of luck with your track!

It doesn't matter how it sounds..
..as long as it has BASS and it's LOUD!

My Track is doing very well XD (you will hate it cause it's another experimental one~ but at last with some "beats" in it) This Synth is awesome :3 Already have more than 20 cool presets. I now have something like 50 seconds... but i will make this one longer than my last one.
It will be called "The Baby from Hell" (ore something like that :3)

Oh well, thats a couple more phrases and about fifteen more seconds thrown in .... my writing is becoming a bit 'bottlenecked' so think I'll leave it there for now!

I saw this Challenge the other day and thought I'd have a go, I've just uploaded my entry;
Eddie Pedalo - Tweakers, Sneakers and Speakers.
created with only Kriminal Felix and Freeware fx
software used:
Ableton Live 8 (I didn't use any of the built in fx as instructed, but I did use the Apeggiator)
7x Kriminal Felix
Bootsy Boot EQ mk II
Nusofting Reverbering
Luxonix LFX-1310 (for the filter and compressor)
Xlutop Chainer Demo (not technically freeware, or an effect, but free. I used it to create random Felix presets for tweaking)
I would have liked to have used some more extreme fx, such as distortion, but the rules stated I wasn't allowed to change the charector of the sound.

Hiya mugwump, welcome to the comp ... and thanks for the submission!
As I said earlier, great to have stuff come in this early ... and this is extremely early!! like about 4 days in??
... and really nice to see a few new folks active on the thread!
Still loads of time for anyone else interested in knocking a track together ... and for more prizes to be offered!!!
... got a right good feeling about this comp!

Am I the only one who has a hard time with the kick/bass combo? I think I just suck at synthesizing kicks and it ends up having the wrong frequencies. Or maybe the synths in these comps aren't ideal for the good old psy kick that I'm used to? The low end has always been a pain for me once I started to notice it and try to incorporate it into my tracks...lol my old stuff from years ago had no basslines hahah!

I'm working on a track, too - not sure it'll be ready in time for the challenge, though...

I found it easier than the Crystal and TAL challenge. FunnyMadPsyance wrote:Am I the only one who has a hard time with the kick/bass combo? I think I just suck at synthesizing kicks and it ends up having the wrong frequencies
