Catanya demo doesn't work right (or I don't understand it) when I set the loop end at 8 and I set this pattern in FL Studio:

It doesn't sound right... am I doing something wrong?

Problem is duplicity notes A4-A5 in source track. Catanya needs 3 different notes on input.

I noticed that in the factory templates there was slow BPM patterns, as well as other speeds, however is there anyway to slow the speed at which Catanya creates its output pattern other than slowing down the overall host BPM?

Then it isn't useful for me :(
Sometimes I need arpeggios with two Cs or Ds or whatever... will this solved in a future?

Thanks

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, so here it goes. What the 7Aliens guy means is that it would be redundant to have notes an octave apart triggering Catanya when you can trigger notes an octave apart from within Catanya. - Orbit-50

Thanks Orbit, but look at the picture I posted 4 post before... how could I make that arpeggio?

Although sometimes it works...... :S

I'm gonna go out on that limb too since I have not played with Cantanya yet- it seems to me you are confusing your FL tracks with the Cantanya instrument.

After you have set up FL to receive from Cantanya, any notes you enter on that FL track are just triggers for the Cantanya to play what is programmed in it.

So if you want C4 with C5 in an arpeggio, you must progam this in Cantanya (if it operates like other arps I have used) and then put just one C4 note (or C5 or ?? note) on the FL track for what ever length you want Cantanya to loop.

Hope this helps kyodeejay.

Cheers,
dsan

What I do is lay down the patterns in double the space.
Its a bit of a work around until half/quarter/double.. step gets added ;)..

kyodeejay are you retriggering the A or does it span 2 bars? The red outline is obscuring whether or not theres a division in the note.

Yes, I'm retriggering it. Anyway I think that it's a very silly catanya limitation... it's a pity :(

Ok! 7Aliens; I got curious, watched the vid and got even a little bit excited.... :D But learning from my mistakes in the past I have some questions. (abandoning all synthedit/synthmaker commercial VST's)

* How stable is it when used in Cubase 4 & 5?
* Will it work flawless on fast Quadcore machines?
* Will it run on a 64 bit OS as well?
* How is your update/upgrade policy? (A lot of smaller companies are fine & friendly at the beginning, but after they go to a let's say 1.5v of a product they start to go all Waves on your ass and start charging a lot for updates ;))

And last but not least, are you open to customer input?

:troll: Cool stuff, really considering the buy!

Not sure if this will work but maybe try to shorten the length of the chords .

Hello,

Don't know whether I'm doing something wrong, or even whether this is the correct place for this post, but I appear to be losing the selected Catanya preset name on exiting Reaper. I have the full version of Catanya and on selecting a preset in the Catanya GUI it:

1) Doesn't update the selected preset name in the drop-down box above the Browser and Sequencer icons until the GUI is re-entered. :(
2)After saving the project on exiting Reaper, on re-entry, the preset name is shown as "init". The pattern in the Sequencer appears to be correct, but the preset name has been lost.

Is this a bug?

I hope you can understand what I am trying to describe.

Regards,

Paul.
Just a newb, but getting better every day.
At least I know how to spell noob now!

Hi,

I use Cubase 5 in my studio (on a 32 windows xp) but I won't be there before September. I use Windows 7 64bit on my laptop with Ableton Live 8 (demo, currently) and FLStudio (I use the laptop for creating scratches and programming synths, no needs to invest in another copy of Cubase when i am in the studio most of the time anyway).

I couldn't register it in FLStudio, it simply crashed. When I loaded it with Ableton Live it worked fine, I registered and afterwards i could use it in FLStudio. I just spent a single hour or so with it yesterday but it worked flawlessy.

My laptop is just a Core2Duo (A T9300). I run a fast quadcore on the main DAW in the studio, but i won't be able to test it there until september.

But just to update you on the 64bit compatability..

But try the demo :)

I'll throw some comments when I learned how to use it, but the interface seems pretty well designed so it shouldn't take long.
