It just came through and is now on iTunes (has been in review for just over two weeks @ Apple - so that's fairly quick)!

I'm really excited now (*pops cork*).

My intention is to make more inspirational little sound applications - think things like Lunchbox Battles and Hammerhead, Moonfish, etc. - 'Snackable' audio and music apps.

Anyway.. I'm a happy camper today!

I didn't want to plug it - I was just really enthusiastic after waiting impatiently and then finally receiving the email from Apple...

Anyway.. you can find it here... it's a fun "drum n bass" (that's also the name) toy built around the infamous Amen breakbeat:

This is the itunes link (warning: will open iTunes):
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSt ... 40441&mt=8

Fun for noodling around. It runs just as well on the IPod Touch btw.

I have already started to port my existing audio libraries to Objective-C so I can reuse a lot of the things I've built over the years for my new apps.

congrats brambos. i'll send you a buck later :)

how was coding experience with it? is it easier or harder than you expected? i've considered dabbling in IPA development as well, so any insight you can give would be cool.

Hi Grymmjack,

The first two weeks were excruciating. Objective-C is like C++, but different enough to make you pull your hair out.

Like C++, it extends C with object oriented bits and bobs. It does so nicely, but the extensions look completely alien compared to C. Just why Apple didn't go with C++ like the rest of the world is beyond me. It must be that "think different" thing

Anyhow.. once I got the hang of the Objective-C part, it went much better. The whole combination of XCode and Interface Builder suddenly clicked and now I can set up a basic application as fast (if not faster) than in Delphi - which used to be my weapon of choice up til now.

I don't like Apple's help documentation. Borland's (at least the documentation I'm familiar with from Delphi, BASM and CBuilder) is 10 times better.

Debugging is nicely done and well-integrated with the iPhone simulator, but the compiler-error messages are so generic and vague that tracking down bugs and syntax errors are a pain. Especially if you're a n00b and still learning the language.

The iPhone APIs are pure bliss. Really, they're great stuff...
