Not sure where this should be placed on the forum so feel free to move to the appropriate section. I just watched the videos on this iPhone app and I am buzzing about the possibilities- anyone out there checking this out- importing custom samples to make your own loops sounds awesome- and with that engine- I am getting some bizarre sound recording ideas to use for it. Looks like they already have submitted a bug fix (very fast). I might just have to take the plunge and see how I can integrate it into my music setup. The fact that you can export your creation into a seamless loop to bring into your system is awesome.

This is all well and fine, and don't get me wrong, could be fun on a long buss/plane/train ride, but why is there such a lack of things like this for the VST world? I'd buy this in VST form in a heartbeat, but I honestly don't see myself using my iPhone as a platform for making music.

I played with it all night and can definately see a purpose. If you are stuck on a (bus/plane/train/doctors office/just too lazy to go into your studio)- pull out your iphone and start making some beats. Once you have something you like- hit rec and create a loop that yo ucan bring in to your DAW. Seems really simple to me and could help get new ideas into ones project. I like that I can sample audio and use it (actually, you can use 6 samples at once) to get a groove going. BUT- this is definately something geared towards those who are looking for new and odd sounds- not just your typical 4/4 drum and snare beats (which it can do).

As for why we don't see vsti versions- simple- the App Store- now anyone can have an idea and sell it quickly and easily. Supporting it is easier- it's one platform (kind of like game systems). You don't have to deal with oddball system configurations causing issues.

Just my thoughts- I think the sampling import and export function has huge potential.

Haha, I like at most the pictures of JR at the advertisements of Hexatone. That mean view and those cool posing of the fingers again. Maybe we should start a new all-time-best thread like this fine one:

This is endorsed for the iPhone, but i guess it works for the iPod touch also? Might be well worth the $10 to have some fun with tough, all the more productive if you can export the midi/notes to your DAW.

p.s. if it comes with a fake goatee, consider this a BUY!

Is there an iPhone music app he DOESN'T like?

lol i'm going to sit back and watch this one.

all i have to say about jordan is he's so innovative and all that, but he's overdone himself with all the endorsements to the point where he should really take a back seat when an app like this is made.

I have a feeling they'll be even more things like this... coming.

I've only explored about 50% of it so far, but I'm really loving this baby! It so refreshing to have a new approach to music making. I thought I could figure it out on my own, as usual, but this time a reading of the manual is a MUST.
