Now that does sound reactionary! I once listened to a church sermon in which the pastor boasted that he had been reading the bible while driving down the M1 motorway, steering with his knees

It seems awfully strange that the sales of T-RackS have plataued after this was announced. Even after reaching the 2000 target, sales accelerated. People were on a high and now it seems people are "coming down". Coincidence or something more? Conspiracy?
Even after my earliest post, I think a few maybe taking this a little bit too far
. I don't think IK ruined music education (it's all Pro-Tools nowadays [even for the half-serious], believe me; I just earned a degree in music production); they just made a major error of judgement by daring to promote such a product @ KVR. Even moreso by (in effect) telling the T-RackS crowd it was going to change their life (okay I dramatised this bit for effect). Seems there aren't as many fun lovin' criminals as they'd have liked to think. Now I've had time to think this through (and gained some retrospect), I'm having a really good laugh at this thread

exactly, that's my point...I'm not blaming them, really I was splitting hairs more than anything else. There was a guy in Boston a couple years ago who got busted for watching porn while driving

I can't listen to music while driving anymoreSquids wrote:You have a good point and what comes with the new gadgets comes new responsibility on how to use it. But we adapt.Hink wrote:that's why I said all these iphone apps are playing with fire, people have shown a strong inclination to not acting responsibly with cell phones. By the way, Groove Maker also has a GPS system that tells you where all of the cool clubs are in your area.
But remember not only am I not a cell phone person I'm not a phone person either
Btw if you put the iphone up to your face in Florida the sweat makes it impossibel to hang up on the person you were talking to... so you have to be careful not to mutter "what a schmuck" after the conversation is over.

Why so anti iPhone? I've owned a bunch of phones, and my wife's owned many more and it's the only one we both ended up liking and keeping. Why so anti iPhone? I know people yell, "it doesn't do anything what other phones don't do" and I agree. It just does them more elegantly.hibidy wrote:But I am disappointed!Andrew Bach IK wrote:Note to self #2-ask Hibby next time if he has whatever hardware is needed for any and all future products.hibidy wrote:

I'm quite sure those that wanted them bought in. Tbh, I was trying to change the subject from 'IK ruined the fabric of music'. Unfortunately, I left my wit at the doorFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote:You don't think it's just that the people who wanted to buy it did?
Maybe it was a satirical remark regarding people reading too much into this iPhone app, who am I to know?

OK. Enough with my harsh constructive criticism about the trailer, hype and little bit of lies on your part ... bla bla ... I don't even care anymore. IK ruining the education of young people, not so! The universal truth is that some people will never say, OK, maybe we did make a mistake, after all, we're only human! They will rather tell Peter Gabriel stories and I don't know what more, especially when the rep of their company is at stake. So, putting that aside, let me get to the real issues here. I just downloaded your app(free version) and played around with it a bit and I'm gonna list things that I like and dislike.
Loops, Samples - although they are just that(other peoples work), I really like them a lot ... quality samples, I must say ... wish there was more of single drum loops(percussion section), like bd-hats-snares-congos etc. and less whole loop arrangements, this way I could say to myself, ok, at least I've made the arrangement from single sample loops, it's wasn't' all mashed up for me in advanced ... so ditch the whole mesh-up loops, and I mean NOW
...
Mixing - as I can see, no comp, fx, delay, nothing ... no velocity ... not cool ... preferably would like to see a simple drag from 1 to 100% in a 10% increments ... no turn-off-turn on sample on the interface ... shouldn't loop stop playing if it is playing already and I click once or twice on it?
Arangment - very confusing, mix d,c,b,a ... again very wrong and childish, ditch it and replace it with load single samples, sequencer, fx and chain options for sidechain compression(that is little bit of revolution right there, side-chaining on I-Phone, how cool), don't want app to control arrangement for me, nothing remotely fun in that ... if you think I-Phone will not be able to handle that(side-chaining), think again! Next Iphone will be 3 or 4 times as powerful and I believe it will be based on the next-generation Intel Atom chip 30 nm or so ... don't have to add it now, but think in advance
Again, and I don't know how to stress this enough, remove all buttons on the right side that are suppose to do mixes for me and replace them with something really useful ...
I like the big buttons on the interface, don't have to take telescope and a pin to touch the buttons that I want to engage, like I have to do on Beatmaker ... If I think of something more, I will let you know but if you do all this things that I have listed you will get my respect for this app back ... potentially, it could grow into a really good fun-to-play with app but for now, it's just a waste of space ...

What it really boils down to is I'm far more anti cellphone than anti "iphone". Even more accurately, I'm anti "the people who use them since they are so rude and inconsiderate". BUT I'm also anit-mac/anti-apple, so that about sums it up

not all cell phone users are rude but I hear yah, they're one more reason not to use a turn signal, I hate it when you're at the bank or a store and a customer is on the phone while it's their "turn" for the clerk or teller. Put the phone down, do you business and then call the person back.hibidy wrote:Ah, the list would be so longzerocrossing wrote:

But what is worse is those people who spend thousands on bills, I'm watching judge judy one day and this guy is getting sued over a cell phone bill. The guy downloaded over 800 dollars worth of ring tones, who the hell does that? Then he racked up several more thousand in actual calls and such. I'm sorry, but there is no one I want to talk to enough to spend that much. A phone isn't worth that much to me, in fact I hate the damn things 90% of the time.

And to add, if you tell them they are bothering you they swing around and protect the phone as if you are running their phone call
Horrible. I'm surprised I haven't seen someone grab the phone and chuck it across the room!
