I'm pretty shure the multi osc outputs both saw and square waves as i remember it. You just need to chose between saw or square when you input it to a mixer or amp module or whatever.
Yes the multi-osc is working like that. But then there is the multi-saw and I use to prefer that one for warm Oberheim sounds. It would be interesting to hear a multi-square too. :)

Has there been any recent news on a Mac version ?

Just found out about the new dedicated multisaw osc.
And yes, it sounds a lot better than the multi oscillator multisaw.
Actually it's VERY good sounding ! so smooth, and no ugly phasing effect like i often hear on many other multisaw synths (and on Vaz own multi osc)

Just made a nice stereo pad sound with two multi saws panned left and right with great stereo effect... allso a good way to se how random it is !

Can you use the sequencer to play a vsti in the mixer? And if so, how?

Thanks

No that's not possible.

Any news from Martin? What's the status on VAZ now, which is the latest version?

Post

Hi Martin,

Could you compile several dll's that support 8, 16 and 32 outs?

I am very hopeful this could be done for the next beta release?

Also, I know VST automation is going to be very tricky to implement, could you provide a module that supports nrpn midi controllers instead?

Multi processor support....I have a Core 2 Quad

Better visual feedback for modulation destinations. A quick mock-up below:

In this simple example envelope 2 is selected and it's destination is filter frequency modulation. Obviously there could be multiple destinations highlighted and that's where this would really help.

sampler module
microdelay module (0 to 20 ms floating point) with modulation
delay (and all internal fx modules) feedbacks mod possibility
+1 with UNDO function
+1 with modules shouldn't overlap
+1 with grouping modules
thanks!!!

and yes, STEREO fx modules wanted too!
and maybe a built-in limiter on master?

id love to see a few tweaks to the glitch pitch and tempo glitch modules.

a button that would bounce whatever is recorded in the buffer with one click would be good.

also - can we get PITCH control in the glitch modules - literally just transpose the recorded buffer up or down.

also - perhaps a pulse multiplier? maybe it takes an input, lets say to keep it dead simple, its a 1hz input, the module would output 2 hz - i gues just calculate half the length of the proceeding input, then slot another pulse exactly between them.

that may or may not make sense...

and the same old one everyone wants - being able to host vstis in vaz and use the sequencers as input, and the ability to route mod setting to vst paramaters (that would be soo very very sweet).

oh, and a dedicated drum loop friendly version of the gran oscillator - that thing can do excellent remixing of loops, but most people never put the math together on how to simply resequence a prerecorded loop using just sample start modulation - just something that is pre-set to snap to 16'ths/ 32nds / whatever of the measure.
come on you ..... lets have some aphex acid.

I really don't know how VM works 'under the hood' but my impression is that midi-out would involve a lot of work to implement - I just don't think it works that way at the moment, as much as I'd like it too.

i got no idea of programming myself, it just seems like an obvious progression, if its possible at all.

id also like to see either another sequencer module, or additions to the current that would let you do these things:

when you step enter notes, it should also record the velocity they were entered at

perhaps on the 16 step mixer, you could hook it to a controller, and it cycles and follows the knob, leaving the curve that youve input in real time on the sequencer.

the ability to use an input to control the gate times, so you could make them more dynamic

the ability to hook one sequncer, playing your lead/melody/ bass/whatever, to another which is set to an arp, and simply arps what you put in (sort of like using a host to control a cv sequencer set on arp)

the ability to control the position of the sequencer from an input - if you send it 0, it on 1/16, 128 it is on 9/16, etc - although i may have already suggested this and been told its problematic.

and aside from the sequencer-

a granular one shot module for drums

the ability to put a sample into the granular module, and set it so it plays back at the same speed it originally was (without having to tune by hand). Nope, no idea how to even conceptualise this, letalone program.

yep, thats all the wishlist i can think of this time.

Oh, and i also second king tubbys idea on the highlighting mod sources.
