Not yet. I need a new laptop first! It sounds like if i want to get the full use of the synthsquad i need to get a much higher specced machine. So upgrade first and then i start looking closer at teh synthsquad. Plus i'm on windows 7 and i have no idea if they will run so will wait for a demo.djanthonyw wrote:musikmachine wrote:Must..resist...watching...video...thelizard wrote:Here, I was resisting purchase until the demo came out. Multi-Core CPUs: Synth Squad doesn't try to make use of multiple cores internally. However, modern incarnations of Cubase, Protools etc will distribute plugins across cores happily. I have an 8-core Mac Pro (admittedly running windows a lot of the time!) and I often have a few strobes, a cypher or two, an amber and BFD2 in projects without problems, letting my host sequencer distribute the work across cores as it sees best. Fusor is a special case, as all synths hosted in Fusor need to run within the same plugin (and hence on the same core), hence why Fusor's suggested min specifications are significantly higher than the individual synths.

If anyone happens to be running Synth Squad with an Intel i7 processor I'd be interested to know how the various plug ins perform for you.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Just for fun I tried the 32x oversampling mode and got one veeeeery crackly note out of cypher while my C2D 2.4ghz CPU smoked away
In between the crackles, it sounded good though!
Just one question: does the "render" oversamplling take effect when doing the new bounce in place function in Logic 9? I'm assuming it would as it's offline processing, but just making sure.

[For the sake of full disclosure, I own a Yaris and like it very much.]
