Tell me about it. That's the price (inc VAT) i paid on the FXpansion web store. Why are DV247 allowed to offer it for £24 less, especially when it's the bloody boxed version? Doesn't half undermine the price I paid from the official site.

hi colin i think retailers buy in bulk at a fraction of the price and DV can sell it and offer free v station for under £160

makes you wonder what this software is really worth

that's why i always wait a week or so to see who has the best deal.
good idea if anyone just wants a v station though..buy the bundle keep the novation and sell the synthsquad in it;s box for £150

It's definitely worth what FXpansion is selling it for, but as Rob said, a lot of retailers buy in bulk for a discounted price, which allow them to sell it a little cheaper if it's not voiding any special agreements with the dev.

Also, most of the time there is a higher profit margin in software to work with... because it's not a 'physical' product. For example, with Waves plugins the retailer's have over a 50% profit margin.

Yeah I know that retailers get bulk discounts but it's still a bit annoying to be honest. Oh well

so if colin paid £180 or so for the download and then wants to sell it becomes over £200 snots

NOT GOOD..
i bet DV247 will run out of stock of v-stations by the end of the day.. i know a few who have already snapped up this deal just to get a free v station and sell synthsquad for £150 anyways on ebay

i happily paid the 180 pounds directly to the developer, worth every penny!!! i didn't even look out anywhere else for cheaper offer. but that's just me.

Retailers can charge what they like I'm afraid, we don't have any control over this. We explain clearly on our FAQs that the download is the same price as the boxed version. You're paying for the license to use it.

Perfectly aware that they're both the same price. My quibble isn't over the box, it's over the £24 difference to 'use it', as you so eloquently put it.

i's do the opposite...and sell on the vstation.
even if it sells only for 30£....that brings down the price of the synthsquad to 130£...sounds better

FXpansion is the dev, so they're obviously going to charge retail price.

Most of the time you will have a better deal from retailers than from the DEV. I think it is totally normal because the DEV don't want to pull the rug from under their retailer's feet. It's a very usual business practice.

The download though should be cheaper, but that's my opinion to favor the "greener" solution. It seems that these things change only when there is some goverment incentive in that sense. Too bad.
