Dear kvr users

I'm looking for a text to speech program that sounds like "speak n spell"
here is the link for the texas instrumets speak n spell simulator
http://www.speaknspell.co.uk/speaknspell.html

Unfortunately there is no option to add words to the vocabulary of this proggy,
and all the other text to speech programs I tried sounds very different ..

maybe someone of you guys knows a text to speech synthesizer that sounds like this ?

Thanks

But it still won't let you input your own words which the OP wants to do (well my version doesn't anyway).

The Speak & Spell is a fun device :) which, however, isn't actual text-to-speech: each word was pre-recorded and extensively data compressed/truncated, and it cannot reproduce any words (based on input text and some general speech synthesis rules) that it doesn't already contain built-in. This is also the reason why actual text-to-speech solutions sound so different. For you to get the most authentic Speak & Spell -like voice, you need something that can use similar techniques in modifying a person's voice to resemble the sound reproduction process of the device.

The best I've come across is Bitspeek by Sonic Charge, which uses a similar linear prediction algorithm, in real time, with different quality settings etc. available: https://soniccharge.com/bitspeek

Wavosaur - VSTSpeek
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

That one is cool also, although it's a somewhat different thing as described above.
