I got it from here.
http://www.sf2midi.com/

Just do a clavinet search and try them all.

I can't remember the name of it, but it's on my mac, and I just turned it off.
I'll get the names in the morning.
1am here, going to sleep now.

Also, VB3 kicks the balls of NI B4-II.

Real hard.

Agreed! No comparison!

While I like other GSi instruments, I don't like ZD6 at all. It's too dull (even with the brightest EQ and pickup settings) and doesn't have that sharp crisp attack that real clavs have, and without that attack it's impossible to play really groovy rhythm parts. I don't understand why it gets so much love, to me it's a failure as a clavinet emulation.

You can tweak the kontakt instrument to your heart's desire. It's authentic-sounding, and the release characteristic in the script ALONE makes playing the midi controller seem like I'm playing a clav for real.

I Have GSI rhodes and an organ one. The rhodes is kick ass and prob'ly can't be beat. the organ one isn't great, can be good in spots but lacks controls and has tons of aliasing in the chorusing.
WOW do you have GSI VB3?????

This sounds way better than NI B4 and even my Hammond XK1!!!

Apparently the clavinet in Kontakt 3 is the one from Elektrik Piano.
I have VB3 and the Korepack '57 Drawbar organ. The 57 Humiliated the VB3. VB3's real good in spots, but again, it lacks controllability, or I'm just too dumb to do it, which is the same thing to me. and the leslie model just has the worst aliasing possible, and with a project loaded with it in it, it's there always, with playback stopped. just nasty. don't know from B4. I do know that the kontakt rhodes isn't so good.

track using '57

VB3 has better Leslie sim than NI B4-II, by far.

I cringe at apples vs. orange comparisons. VB3 is modelled, Korepack is samples. Meh. And then a jab about controllability. Modelled instruments are always more controllable.

About your aliasing issue, VB3 has Global options, you can set the "cleanness" of the sound there.

those i played did not have that either. most ROMpler clav patches i know do.

Sounds too dry and artificial to me, sorry ^^'

To the thread question: If you're getting Komplete the clav in Elektric Piano is quite good and will beat out the ZD6. Scarbee's is still the best but NI's is really good. ZD6 is very usable and smaller memory footprint than loading samples but it's just not quite as good.

In defense of GSI, VB3 is hands-down the most authentic organ sim I've used and I have NI B4II, B4, Logic's EVB3, and a Nord Stage. Key word: Authentic. The "aliasing" Jancivil is talking about is actually rotor noise, and can be shut off globally. Real Leslies have noisy motors and this is just another example of how authentic VB3 can be if you want it. Also, If you've ever heard the chorusing on a real organ VB3's is completely authentic.
I don't think Jancivil is really looking for a real B3 organ-every parameter any organ ever has had can be adjusted on VB3. You can even change cabinets. This plugin has been my secret weapon at all my gigs. Big nod to Mr Ray 73 also.

I was really looking forward to the GSI Clavinet-emulation as I also really like the other ones (and bought VB3 and MrRay and the Space Echo-whatever it was called) but alas, I too was disappointed. I remember reading something the developper wrote about it being more difficult than he thought because it behaves much more like an acoustic instrument (than the rhodes or the hammond) or something. I got the feeling somehow he wasn't quite satisfied with it himself but since he got such positive feedback he just kept it like it is.

I still use this one http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1134.html which probably doesn't sound much like like the real thing too, but at least I get some usable sounds.

Unfortunaly (and I really mean it!), Logics clavinet is doing quite a nice job for my stuff, in addition it's highly tweakable.

I agree on that.

By the way, i'm patient enough to wait on a Pianoteq Clavinet emulation.
I just know it will come soon (hope so) :)

+1

That thing is simply awesome, you can smell those low registries.

Nope, the Kontakt clav kills the one in Elektrik piano. Imho Elektrik Piano is pretty mediocre now. Scarbee VKC easily beats it, and of top of that, Mr Ray 73 beats them all at Rhodes emulation.

NI should consider lowering the prices for EP (and also AP) or re-release them as Kontakt Player libraries.

Real hard.
It's weird how a discussion about Clavinet morphed into tonewheel organs.

I'm partial to NuBiLE, but really my favorite organ is the one in my Alesis QS6.
That has a pretty good Clav, too.

I have a deal working on a real D6. Wish me luck on that. I'll sample it if I get it.

The problem with Clav patches is that there's a fine line between funky and rich, and a cheesy harpsichord sound. Even with a real Hohner, a lot of it is down to the amp you use.

I guess there are different levels of objectives. One would be "at what point do I actually part with my B3+145 and use an emulation?" (I know one person who did exactly that, and now has a VK-77 and a MotionSound -- still not exactly an "emulation" I know).

Whenever I go home, I play my M-100. Here's an intangible element: The *smell* that wafts up out of the thing when it is warm, affects my creativity. I'd love to see a VSTi duplicate THAT.
