tut-tut, there's always one. If you want to pay 69.95 for it, you go for it. I just hope bootsie doesn't realise he could sell his plug-ins sshhhhhhhhhhMelodyMan wrote:Sounds good, but i prefer the new Polysquasher on the masterbus. It seems as if Polysquasher preserves the stereo-image better and it sounds a bit more "open". Will try Density now on the drumbus and individual tracks.

Ok any thoughts on how this compares to :-
The Glue
PSP Old Timer
IK Fairchild 670

Checked it against The Glue and 670 (670 and Density at #1 attack/release setting and Glue on whatever felt right). IMO The Glue is punchier and a bit "spitty-er", 670 is pumpier, DensityII seems to be the smoothest of all three and has a definite "relaxed" character.dickiefunk wrote:Ok any thoughts on how this compares to :-

Both three are GREAT and have individuality!

bootsie could bundle all his plug-ins together, offer them to Waves to stamp their logo on it and then retire from the sales of the John Leckie (Or Whatever) Singature Bundle to "pro" sound engineers.yellowfever wrote:tut-tut, there's always one. Well, it's definitely not a bad compressor and it's has its sound. With a right material and tasteful use it'll shine!dickiefunk wrote:So Density mkII is of the same quality!?

The Glue: different style, wouldn't really compare it. It doesn't do it for me.dickiefunk wrote:Ok any thoughts on how this compares to :-

Old Timer: Not as good as Density or 670.
670: Really good, easily gets too pumpy for my taste.
Density MkII: The gentleman in this comparison. It's not so easy to make it sound "wrong". Much easier with the 670 or PSP.
Rocket: A more aggressive beast, like it for what it does. For what I like more often (softer, less aggressive) it's not versatile enough.

P.S. To make Density crush like the Rocket I had to stack 2 instances. Then it can do some serious splattering on a drum bus, too.
What?

This is a very good compressor. I could drag a transient out of almost no transient data
And its SO smooth, but still punchy enough especially for 2bus glueing. I think I've never heard this smooth shaping.. theres something right stuff going on for my ears at least.
Hit hight drive, play with the range and strict/relax, then play with wet/dry.. then play with M/S.. then people say there's magic, when they dont understand
