I Ableton Live's Drumracks were a choice I'd vote for that! That would be awesome!

OWD KitCore kits are available today but you need the code to get it. The redeem code is PROMO-OWDC1 which you enter on this page: http://www.downloadablesoundz.com/redee ... eemcredits

As far as other free versions of the OWD kit 10 I think that's it for now! We'll see if Ocean Way wants us to do any more or not. But, since you've voted we'll support those other formats (some of the most popular ones anyway like Battery) with other killer Sonic Reality drums (and yes some for free too).

sorry I should have been more specific, when will they be available for sale, I already downloaded kit 10 for kitcore and love it, so I'm waiting for the other owd kits to be available for sale in kitcore or battery formats. I was hoping I could use the t-racks3 groupbuy 25$ coupon for one but I guess it's too late for that. :?

Now that I finally got my copy of Komplete 5, and have had a chance to try out Battery 3, I have concluded that BATTERY is the format I would also prefer. I voted for something else earlier. The flexibility for editing the drums in Battery is awesome, and the ability to visually see the velocity layering of the samples and edit them accordingly is fantastic. I wish I had this kind of control with all of my VI drum kits.

And the other cool thing about Battery 3 is that you can take any drum hit (whether from an existing kit or imported) and transform the sample into a variation of that sample:

Alternate Strokes
Flams
Drags
Rolls
Buzzes
Muted Hits
Speed Rolls, and others.

And the thing is... the alternate hits you can create with these controls are very realistic in some cases, so it is easy to build variations or more detail to your drumkit using this software. Gotta love that.

It would definitely be cool to get some of our beloved Sonic Reality kits in this format... particularly the Ringbeats, Bonzo and Motown Kits.

We didn't announce a full OWD library for KitCore though. We were just testing the waters. It's somewhat popular but maybe not enough to do an OWD library dedicated to KitCore. Luckily though we DO (and did when the $25 coupon was still valid) have the OmniDrummer series of kits at great prices and of comparable quality: http://www.esoundz.com/downloads.php?pn ... 8050H28101

Again, for us to be able to justify doing MORE kits for KitCore/DrumCore these first have to sell well enough to support doing more. Gone are the days where we can afford to just do whatever we feel like regardless of what the demand is. We're still dedicated to doing quality sample products we believe in but when it comes to converting and custom programming in native formats... that's where you guys come in. If you and all of the fans of that format spread the word (kind of like in a group buy but who said it had to be a group buy for word of mouth to happen?) and get more people to buy sounds we've made in that format or at LEAST come get the free sounds we have if we do (like in this case) then it could fuel the fire for more (more free and more libraries to purchase). I'd have to make a good case to Ocean Way why they should invest in us doing it so... if the demand is high enough you never know! At least we did do some sounds you can purchase though now and since it's only $15 per kit if that doesn't FLY off the 'virtual shelf' at those prices then it's not going to look good for future third party support, naturally. But that can change in a week... all depending on YOU.

As consumers we all have more power now to make a product or product line successful. Niche companies like sound companies don't have the funds to advertise everywhere and the retail stores have less and less shelf space to offer for sounds. When you're a sound company that supports a variety of formats (a rare thing these days) you certainly can't advertise every format version of every sample colleciton (not when you have hundreds like us) even on the web. So it's almost ALL word of mouth. We rely on you guys to spread the word. Our focus is on making the products great value.

Anyway, this thread is a prime example of what I'm talking about. A chance for people to vote on what they want to buy or what they want even for FREE. I may do a thread like this for other product lines as well. We like to listen to what customers want and within reason, cater to the demand without losing our focus on quality products we love.

Battery seems to be a popular choice and we may try to do a Drum Masters Battery version. Perhaps we'd do styles first and if that's popular then move on to artist kits. Maybe a range of them is possible and also for Reason. Of course the same philosophy applies. Right now we have a free Ocean Way Drums refill for Reason and it's up to the fans of Reason to spread the word about it. A good test! That's the only way we can offer any of this stuff free or at great prices (and for download). Word of mouth! YOU! You who is reading this, yes you! TALK IT UP! Tell people about Sonic Reality, Drum Masters or anything you like that we've done or want us to do! We appreciate the help as well. I know many of you DO and this is a big part of why we're successful. We recognize that and this is why I am so blunt and honest about it with you guys. Wouldn't you rather a company spend its money on development more than marketing hype anyway? Think about it. It's like going to a non-fancy restaurant where the food is awesome vs. a fancy atmosphere restaurant where all the money went into the rent and decor but the food... eh. I don't know about you but I want the quality! ;) So how does a restaurant like that get popular? People tell other people about it (yes and reviews which we need to do more of and will be moving forward... but YOU guys can also review our products right here on KVR or other places. Do you?).
