I'm falling asleep, but I'll try and write a couple of lines anyway:

1 - I just realized I do not know how to vote, nor who is allowed to vote, for that matter! :-o

2 - I believe all tracks will be below the 100 mg limit - or is that the folder maximum size?

3 - The account on Jamendo could be used for all future OSC's, so I think you should register, Tattiemannie

4 - I like the pic, but it could use some treatment - unless you're good at photoediting, I could try a few variations you could choose from - I'll need the pic in high resolution, though... but again, if you're good at this kind of thing, I don't want to interfere.

5 - not really sure how I could help with the album thing, if you have any ideas let me know and I'll be glad - right now I'm too sleepy to think of any

Mac o' BIOnighT, regarding #1, I believe Tattie will start a new post containing the voting mechanism. I think any interested party is allowed to vote, not just the OSC participants.

Thanks! :) So the participants are allowed to vote, too? Is anybody not going to vote for himself? :D  In any case, I'd better catch up with the tracks I haven't listened to, yet :)

I like this :) Makes me feel kind of like Jack o' Lantern :D :D

Glad to be of service! :)

I've never voted for myself, but that's not to say I think there's something wrong with that...I just think that the majority of the people that vote in OSC's are contestants..could be wrong about that though..and if everyone voted for themselves....

Post

And about the album..is someone going to master it so all the tracks have relatively the same volume?

Post

Max, I just tried Zith...first experience was not well. :(
10 minutes into testing it out, I lost all audio from my sound card, then a complete freeze-up...I don't know if this is just a Cubase issue, but that has never happened to me before with another synth. So I restarted my computer and when I tried to open the project file back up I was greeted by the most high pitch tone that scared the living shit out of me! This was even before hitting play or hitting a note on my keyboard. And then closing cubase caused another freeze.

I'm out of time tonight, it's getting late and I gotta go to bed, and these computer restarts take at least 5 minutes to get cubase up and running..I'll have a go at it again in the morning(well, noon-ish for people who work normal hours lol).

I really hope you get your Galileo issues figured out, because I really enjoyed the short time that I've gotten to play around with it..I'd love to do an OSC with it!

No there's nothing wrong with it. however it does look slightly suspicious if you only get one vote

I second that but as for now I deleted it since it killed FL every time :?
it has so much potential so not being able to use it really bugs me a whole lot.

BTW the tone2 Bifilter can be downloaded here : http://www.kaosaudio.com/tone2-bifilter-free/
And there's the spirit of OSC for you. :D

You're a little down on someones hard work and they still help you out when you ask. :D :D

I'm sure I'll find a good use for this and thank you. :D

And to answer:

Album - I'm in. Cat in a washtub, waiting to drown (I know a song about that) probably a little too much for the sensitive (ie. mad) souls out there... I'd have preferred something a little more graphic... Give me an hour for an example thought... probably cr@p though

Next Synth - Not fussed really. Roll a dice on the top suggestions. Dice Man :!:

Prizes - Really not fussed. It's all about the giggle for me. :D

Presets - Couldn't help with SFXR as I largely used the redundant VST module. Will gladly post for this comp though - just tell me where...

Thanks as ever,
Mouxbar

Right guys, my take on a possible OSC cover. Diss at will :hihi:

Tattie - apologies, I've posted this in the compo area as I don't have any suitable online storage available

Don't be afraid to speak out if you don't like it - I just had this black and white thing going on in my head. I guess like the original cartoon of the same name...

Just a humble submission anyway. :help:

I love this cover! It should be square - 12by12 CM (CD cover size), though, and I think there should be something like "One Synth Challenge no 7 (or whatever)to define the thing a bit more and turn it into a series (I'm thinking of the public), but other than this, I'd say it is great :)

Post

OK, looks like i have some work to do! :hihi:

Marcusz ... cheers for the submission!

OK, I'll get the voting thread up tonight if poss.

Re. the album, I'll open a folder for participants to post their .wav files, and any artwork, notes they might wish to include. The file upload limit is 100Meg ... thats why I needed to know if anyones track would exceed this as a .wav ... though I wouldn't think so.

Thanks for the offer of help Mac, I think I'll take this project on, and seek your help from time to time.

Mastering to level the volumes? ... yeah, good point! I did notice a bit of rise and fall across the collection. I could certainly do the level matching, shouldn't be a problem at all. However, since everyone is gonna have to render their tracks again, can I ask that everyone attempts to optimise their track level and/or tonal spread? There's no problem adjusting the mix if perhaps you find, now that your track is submitted for the comp, that a particular sound needs fixing. .... I certainly notice my own track sounds slightly thin compared to many of the others ... so I'll be doing a bit of EQing of the master before rendering to .wav.

Yeager, no probs posting the pic .... I'll transfer it to the album folder when I create it ... and I'll have a look at it as well! :hihi:
