No 1 sounds good (Analog)
No 2 hurt my ears (Digital)

djanthonyw: I'll even wajor a guess that #2 is a Roland analog synth. Don't know which, but it has a character that reminds me an SH-101 and SH-1. Anyway, I think it's very clearly analog. #1 sounds very nice too, but very different.
As for "digital harshness" in #2 - crappy mp3 encoding.

1 sounds best

& the transients that brake up in it sound like d-cam (i have no real analogue :hihi: )

the 2'nd one is good though!

if the first one is vst & not d-cam then i'm super interested in knowing what it is

I'm going to guess that the second one is analog based on the better handling of high resonance in the second half of the clip, and based on some quantization/stepping during filter sweeps in the first clip. Then again, some analog synths with digital control do this as well, so it could go either way. I'll just say that the second clip sounds better to me, and I predict it is the analog because a lot of developers struggle with analog emulation (although I don't believe there is any inherent deficiency in DSP modeling).

i reckon they're both digital.

( i guess i really should listen to them at some point, though. )

I reckon 1 is Jupiter 6 and 2 is Cypher.

so how long we have to wait to find out?

No.1 is Digital and No.2 is Analog.

1. Analog.
2. Digital.

Both sounded good but 2 sounded harsh in some parts. Whichever it is i like 1 so i hope it is software.

Number one was much more pleasant to my ears than number two. I don't care which is analog or digital (though I'm guessing #1 is analog if they're really different), but I do want to know the source of number one because that's beautiful stuff.

Post

I like 1 because it has more variety of timbre. #2 sounds too similar throughout.

I'd say 1 is definitely analogue, sounds Roland-y, I'd guess at a Jupiter. If it turns out to be a vst I'm buying it :)
