Your own presets will appear in the User collection.
If you make a folder in Program Files/FXpansion/<synth>/Presets with your name, and move them there, they'll appear under your name in the Factory collection.

I just discovered how to use the "Stack" function in the OSc section of Strobe. Really nice. Damn, i thought that doing "supersaws" was limited to Sylenth1 so the only remaining advantage of Sylenth1 is that it could stack 4 of those supersaw oscillators in one instance. Adding unison to Strobe almost kills that advantage too. Another point for Synth Squad.
BTW i made two lead sounds for Strobe. Both use the modwheel for cutoff mod and aftertouch for vibrato:
UPDATE: the zip file contains 3 patches now and the first two are slightly modified.
- deleted, load the collection instead: http://rapidshare.com/files/276827746/I ... 7.9.09.zip

Rory_FX, just listening to the Big Chill tune. Music for the big screen! Can you elaborate which DCAM synths you've used? Are these pads layered?Rory_FX wrote:They are indeed, or at least I used Guru to sequence them - can't remember where all the individual hits came from (except for the brass stab, that's from a Tom Jones recordwoodster wrote:I'd imagine the drums are from Guruscreentan wrote:Does anyone know what the drums are on the Introduction To Strobe video?
). A little Cytomic Glue to gel them together and that's it.
On another note: I read the DCAM review in German magazine KEYS today. The review is very positive: >top sound quality, flexible modulation, nice GUI, excellent value for money<. Only caveat: high sys requirements, especially when using Fusor.

Of course, I answered this earlier in the thread, so forgive me if I quote myself:FrankT wrote:Rory_FX, just listening to the Big Chill tune. Music for the big screen! Can you elaborate which DCAM synths you've used? Are these pads layered?

- the semi-realistic strings you hear right at the beginning is one instance of Amber, hosted in Fusor with a few effects applied (preset Big Stringer). This sounds fades in later on too with some big 6 note chords.
- the pad that fades in slowly is a Fusor pad preset called SQPD Alternating Reality. It's just one instance of Strobe which has some nice pulsing automation thanks to Animator (Fusor's step sequencer)
- the sub bass is just a Strobe square wave with a long envelope and some sine sub, filtered right down so there's nothing but sub. Compressed slightly to keep it under control
- the plucked chords that creep in as the piece goes on are a nice Fusor preset called KB Primavera. It's made up of Cypher, doing a DXish FM pluck. Plenty of delay on Fusor's Aux bus
- rather than use 4 different reverbs, one in each instance of Fusor, I removed any reverb from the presets and put in 2 aux busses in my host, one with a Breverb Hall and one with a Plate algo, and mixed to taste.
There is a small amount of bus compression on the master chan (courtesy of The Glue), just to, erm, glue everything together.

For the people who downloaded my Strobe lead sounds today: I slightly modified the patches and they are 3 now. The new link is in my original post above.
UPDATE: New Strobe patch:
- deleted, load the collection instead: http://rapidshare.com/files/276827746/I ... 7.9.09.zip
This new patch is quite flexible. You can use aftertouch for vibrato and the mod wheel for cutoff modulation. With the mod wheel in full position the patch changes completely. If you use the patch in lower octaves you could use it as a bass sound.
The patch uses the "Stack" function of Strobe for "simulating" 3 OSCs, basically this is a hypersaw/supersaw effect.
UPDATE: A "Supersaw" strings patch for Strobe:
- deleted, load the collection instead: http://rapidshare.com/files/276827746/I ... 7.9.09.zip
UPDATE: 9 Strobe patches including all patches above:

Sooner or later i'll delete all single patches which i published above. Only the collection will stay.
UPDATE: all single files are deleted and substituted with the 9 patches collection.

I know. The audio demos are for sure not doing anything for me. If there's something there that's beyond what I get from Sawer, Ultra Analog, Sylenth1 and Minimonsta I've yet to hear it. PROVE IT TO ME FXPANSION!IncarnateX wrote:...how are things going with the demo version? WHEN? WHEN? and WHEN?

I thought 2 of the demo's sounded quite good, one sounded like MR.Fingers - Washing Machine & another very Kraftwerk-ish, I'm usually quite sceptical about VA Synths sounding truly analogue(Bar OP-X and certain other ones), but these sound quite good, they may be on my shopping list, but I like you would prefer a demo version first, even a 7 day time out version at least!
I'd like to compare them to what already out there as they are claiming it's the best VA Emulation, which is a big claim!

We've never posted any direct comparative claims regarding DCAM vs. other approaches. We do claim it sounds rather tasty, mind you, and I hope that for most people that claim is valid
