The newest version is the same 1.0.14 that was e-mailed to existing customers a while back. Also, you can download the newest version from the Cytomic website once you register your account. As long as the e-mail addresses match up, your The Glue license will appear in the "My Account -> Downloads" section of the site.

Yep, that's right, the web page has the same v1.0.14 that everyone has, but the .zip now includes the manual as well. All existing customers can create a new user account with their registered email address to access their downloads.

You can then enter anything you want in the "Registration Name" field - I wanted to give people a chance to change the name that appears on the front of the user interface since there was some confusion between "Username" and "Registraion name" previously. The Username is just for logging into the web page, the Registration name is the one that appears on your product.

I'm sending out an email to everyone today as well as the press release. Future Music have been in contact so expect a news item on The Glue and a review soon!

Sorry Andy, don't want to turn this into a thread full of people asking you (more) questions, but the last mail I received was at the end of July containing the link to download The Glue v1.0.14. Have I missed something? Looking forward to receiving the release copy, manual and also seeing the CM feature! Wishing you continued success,

Andy

Nope, you've not missed anything - I'm sending out an email to existing customers and people signed up for news later on today. I just wanted to ramp up the web page slowly by letting some of the more tech savvy people here at kvr and gearslutz put it through it's paces first :)

I'm using the v1.0.14 as the first major release and you can download the manual from the web page: www.cytomic.com/glue , or create an account at the site and download v1.0.14 again, the manual is included in the .zip archive as well.

OpenMPT gives me an error stating that it is not a valid VST.
From the web page:

Minimum System Requirements
* Vst 2.4, Au, or Rtas compatible host (Rtas windows still to come) that can handle 4 in 2 output plugins
* Mac: OS 10.4/10.5, ppc cpu with altivec or intel cpu sse2
* Win: XP/2000, intel cpu with sse2

Does your host / computer meet these?

Andrew Simper
I hadn't looked at the requirement as far as vst2.4 is concerned, so i'm guessing that either vst 2.4 compatibility (i believe Openmpt's still at 2.0) or 4 in 2 output is causing this.
Too bad, was looking forward to try this out.
Thanks for the help anyways.

Please let the your host developer know that they can contact me ( www.cytomic.com/contact ) if they require any help in supporting vst 2.4 speaker negotiation, it shouldn't take long code the support for it.

I've posted it at the openmpt forums (http://lpchip.com/modplug/) so hopefully someone wants to take a look at it. (it is open source so quite difficult to predict if someone is working on it)
Again thanks for the help :D

I frequently wonder why more developers aren't smart like Andy and use the JUCE framework for their plugins so they can support all platforms...

congrats Andy, i've been using the demo on my stuff and basically passed on the IKmedia as i thought this and my logic plugs are more enough for now as my software ccompressors, unless something mind blowing comes out, i'll probably save for a UAD2 or buy a nice hardware compressor.

So this is my next software purchase i'm sure of this...

And few have been smart enough, either, to have built up such a userbase of (already) loyal customers by simply being responsive, helpful and friendly on this forum.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the next Cytomic plug-in, whenever that comes!

Just wanted to say thanks for the previous 'presets' update and the basic 'users guide' (manual). Everything else I wanted. :) It is a fantastic acheivement for you to have brought this project to fruition. I too hope that you will be developing a host of other Cytomic VSTs in the near future.

I got The Glue yesterday. Fantastic plugin! Thank you.

I have few querries for your comments:

1) how you would compare The Glue to SSL Series from Waves ?

2) how you would comapare The Glue to Logic builtin compressors?

and more personal:

I have only Factory Bank 1 Presets; are there some more, somewhere to download?

Thank you in advance!

my trial version expired today and i went out and bought it. the new site was very to ease to use and in minutes my trial version turned into a registered version :). was definitely worth it. very satisfied with it so far. the presets are a very nice starting point. also glad i don't have to keep logic open 24/7 to keep my settings in tact now

i already did a a/b comparision with the logic compressor on my drum bus and i have to say, the glue had me sold. everything sounded more well put together and the overall sound was more pleasant to the ears then the default logic compressor.

i'm also curious with a a/b comparision with the waves plugins.

Post

on a similar note i did an a/b with the ableton compressor (set to opto / feedback mode)

had some drums from Addictive Drums with not particularly heavy compression and The Glue really did live up to its name. it all just held together much better, particularly the low end seemed to 'lock in place'

also adding a touch of ferox in front gave me some great results.

I definitely wouldnt say no to a cytomic tape sim as well :)
