Ah, you'll have to describe your work flow. I'm not following how to use them in combo.Orbit-50 wrote:Oh baby! I did it already. It's perfect. That's why I came on here and asked this question. Catanya is the perfect compliment to Eloquence. The only thing Catanya needs is the 2 different sequencer trigger modes. Key and Legato. As it stands now, it only does key trigger.funkychickendance wrote:I'm waiting to hear how -- if at all -- you integrate this with Eloquence...

I don't use them together at the same time. I start out with a chord progression. I then run the progression through Catanya. I make my alterations to the progression using Catanya then record it to midi. I then run it through Eloquence for further refinement. It's a 2 step proccess, but well worth it. These 2 plugins are perfect compliments to each other. Each one does what the other doesn't. The only drawback is the fact that Catanya's sequencer is defaulted to key trigger mode.funkychickendance wrote:I'm not following how to use them in combo.

Ah, I'm with you now. That's a good game plan. Guess I'm motivating myself into buying Catanya at last.Orbit-50 wrote:I don't use them together at the same time. I start out with a chord progression. The 2 most important things to me would be:
-Does it allow for glides/ties in the arp? and
-is there swing?
And yes, it would need a legaot mode as well (ie. changing overlapping chords keeps the play position going rather than restarts)
If not, will these be in 2.0?

It really, really, really, needs it. That to me is all Catanya needs right this second. I don't know if 7Aliens is going to do any updates on it either. As it stands the developer doesn't really respond to this thread very much. It's kind of puzzling.Echoes in the Attic wrote:And yes, it would need a legaot mode as well (ie. changing overlapping chords keeps the play position going rather than restarts)If not, will these be in 2.0?

I was thinking about it and the best solution looks to be to add support for MIDI CC 64 (hold pedal). If it is Off Catanya will work at the trigger mode like now. If it is On the trigger mode wil be switched off (the sequence won't be restarted). I have this task on the ToDo List and I will add it for sure.Orbit-50 wrote:It really, really, really, needs it. Would you be able to do it soon? This is the only major feature missing from Catanya. I want to buy it right now, but can't pull the trigger because of this. This is actually a very good arpeggiator now that I understand what it's exact intention is.7Aliens wrote:I have this task on the ToDo List and I will add it for sure.

i just purchased this beauty.
and im voting for the options thats we can change the chords freely whitout restarting sequence! it would be great! ok i can wait for 2 mounths approx.
also would be really useful if catanya handle FxPans Guru like play alternatives especially "Gate" mode ...
anyway;
thanx 7Aliens for this unique go to go tool.
Best regards from Istanbul

About strumming.
I realised that it quite difficult task to program Catanya to make strumming. (like guitar).
There are two problems - velocity and timing.
Good strumming has 5-6 notes almost simultaneously sounding - but with different velocity and different timing. If you do the same timing - strumming will be too artificial. If you do it with same velocity - too artificial as well.
If I right understand now I can NOT edit chord's velocities separately. It is even more difficult to make separate timing.

So in using this with Ableton Live... what does Live 8.0 have that previous version don't that make it necessary for using Catanya?

It falls at Live 7 and it wasn't tested for older versions.psychematic wrote:So in using this with Ableton Live... what does Live 8.0 have that previous version don't that make it necessary for using Catanya?
