I don't get what the deal is. People don't have "hifi" systems anymore. The fact is people listen to poorly encoded mp3s, they listen on youtube, they listen on crappy earbuds. It's still possible to somewhat judge a track on all of these.

It's possible to enjoy music on those formats. That's why people do it. It is most definately not possible to judge production quality on them as you are essentially listening through a big bandpass filter. The fact that teens nowadays don't care about quality is not at all relevant.

I can understand what you mean but can only agree to a point. Yes youtube encoding can be horrid and you're losing frequency content here and there. But isn't it still possible to be able to judge the general balance and vibe of a mix?

You forgot my almost 16,000 in the NI forums, and 1000 or so in the Cakewalk forums, and...

So let's see- that works out between all my forums to maybe an average of ten posts a day if you go by all of them- if even that much. Figure three minutes on average (some more; some less)- that's maybe a half hour per day. I'm usually up for 19 hours a day- do you think I might be able to fit a half hour in there somewhere?

So, ~25K posts. What makes them more significant is the quality of the content, which many others cannot claim. Especially those who link to photos and graphics again and again.
