That's pretty much the main reason why I'm probably going to end up upgrading my Reason 4.0 to Record come October... when finances get a bit nicer.

I just got Record and Toneport UX2. Don't think most people are aware of this, but with a line 6 interface you can use all the Pod Farm effects and amps inside of Record. You can open the tone presets though you cant tweak the presets within Record, but run the standalone Pod Farm app next to it. This basically trippled the amount of effects in Record, with tons of new phaser, delays, reverb, distortion, filter units. Pretty insane as I just paid about 150 bucks for the interface and got the rest free.

I actually have a question on that...

I own a fully pumped PodXT. Would those effects and whatever show up?

As long as you got either Gearbox or Pod Farm showing up on your computer it should work. PodXT does have USB so it might count. I would try it out in the demo, and if it doesnt work after running Line6 Monkey then just contact Line6 and I'm sure they got a solution.

I just went out the other day and bought the update. Installing it was goddamn painless and I'm glad to report that they're using Codemeter for the dongle (ew, you can be at ease no PACE here).

The good and the bad:

With my PodXT connected, I do get a shit-ton of additional amp and cabs.

By the way: September is 'Free PodFarm' month at Line 6, apparently. If you have a Line 6 device that's PodFarm compatible (the XT or Live series of the POD's), you can get it for free. Poke around their PodFarm page for details.

The bad:

I was really hoping that it'd also allow me to use the pedals in Record. While it -is- really badass that I have a ton of amp / cab options for abuse, I really wanted to mess things to hell with pedals. Eh.

I won't get a real chance to play with it until tomorrow night. Review later.

Hey folk,
I'm stoked with Props for this. The Scream sounds sweetly with my new Tele, I had Hammer(audio hack) for a while, but forgot what a versatile distorsion it is.
Anyway, I'm on to the vocoder. I was wondering if anyone had any hints for getting the best out of it. I tried with a mic and guitar, but all it did was gate my voice when i played a note. I'm looking for a fully tron

sound or something interesting or musical. I guess i'll try synths as the carrier(is that right as carrier and voice as modulator?), but any hints(what synth sound should i use?) would be much appreciated. Also, the BV512 or whatever it is, is it a decent vocoder and I just have to experiment and figure it out?
