s_t's post sent me back to do some more experimenting and here are the results.

In the project where I previously reported an issue with Density mkII: Tessla Pro is also giving a similar problem. Unloading Tessla Pro causes C5 to disappear.

I then made a stripped down test project and tested: Tessla Pro, Tessla SE, EpicVerb, BootEQ mkII, Density mkI and Density mkII. None caused problems when unloading. This leads me to believe that it is not a simple issue related to Density mkII or Tessla Pro, but some kind of interaction with something else in my full, more complicated project.

I closed the simple test project (just the project, not C5) and then opened the current (complex) project. It happens to have an instance of Tessla Pro already as an insert on one track. Upon opening this project, after all the samplers loaded their instruments and normally the project window should appear, C5 disappeared.

It's tough to pinpoint the exact cause as it does seem to be a combination of VSTs that are causing Tessla Pro and Density mkII to finally trigger the crash phenomenon. But I figure all info is helpful, and I present this report in that spirit.

In the meantime, I will continue to use these great plug-ins but I will be careful to save my work before unloading anything.

First of all, let me say thank you for your plugins.
Density and Epicverb are superb!
I'm trying to understand why i like Density1 more than Density2,
but, hey, that's me. Always searching ...
About bugs, i have loaded and unloaded both Density1 and Density2 many times on my system (WinXPpro-sp2 / Intel 2.66GHz Core2Duo cpu / 2GB RAM) using Cubase 5 as a host and ... no crash. All was fine.
DensityII also works very well on my FLstudio9 and Reason4.
(Just kidding on this last one...)

Density 1 has harsher transient hitting to my ears. It suits sometimes better than Density 2, on single drums, but mostly I use 2 on final bus or sub mix busses..

Bootsie, wanted to send you a quick update on my system:

It seems the sudden CPU spike issue has been fixed - great!

There is an issue with CPU usage I have noticed, however. Upon first loading Density MKII the cpu usage on my C2D lappy is about 1.8%. After leaving Density open on a project for about 10 minutes, I looked at the CPU and it was reading 3.5%. Now my friend came over and we partook in J session for 1 hour - I came back and CPU usage is at 5%.

It's not like this is killing my CPU or anything, but there is something that seems to be churning under the hood of Density even when sitting there doing nothing causing the CPU to slowly rise.

My system is a thinkpad t500. C2D @ 2.53ghz, 3gb DDR3 ram, XP pro.

I also had another question about your fx - I really love the preamp section of booteqmkII. Do you have any plans for doing something like that as a standalone effect, possibly with zero latency throughput? Or some other kind of standalone saturation effect? I really like your preamp/saturation dsp.

tried to download density but i get this msg :

"Not Found

can somebody send upload it and send me the link to via private msg, couse i been trying to download it from the official web page for about a week and getting tired of "Not found"

I do need some more testers with SSE1 compatible systems (e.g. old AMD Athlon series) - if you can perform some tests for me with a prepared Density mkII version please send me a PM with your email.

Btw, the Wavelab issue is already sorted out.

Although an SSE1 compatible version is not yet stable and available there is the maintenance release 2.0.1 released which basically covers the CPU spiking and Wavelab issues.

Thanks for the update.
Unfortunately Density MkII is still crashing to desktop with Reaper. But I assume that was not being adressed anyway within this update?
