I am coming up with a growing library of "live jamming gems" which are long phrases/sections of material that Cantabile is recording for me while I experiment and play.
I need to determine if can skip the DAW route and instead put together complete songs in a quick/intuitive way within Cantabile without the need to use a DAW.
So the question .... Is there a sampler/editor vst plugin that I can use within Cantabile that will allow me trim my samples by a shape of # of bars/time? Ideally I need to be able to browse quickly through my audio as well. Plus another requirement would be the abiltiy to trigger these samples in groups of sequences and somehow mix their levels to finish/form a complete song.
Thanks in advance, James

Cantible with a touch of Usine and/or Mobius possibly? I do not have experience with usine or mobius, so your input would be welcome. [Note: just spent a few minutes with usine and my head hurts, oh boy, not sure intuitive this usine is gonna be??? ]
Thanks, James

I also started to look for a way to complete whole songs using Cantabile and some external tool, loaded as a VST, skip the DAW route.
I can recommend EnergyXT. It's really intuitive and fast. As long as you don't need any sophisticated producer tools, and simply like to create something complete, Energy is perfect.
I also tried using Usine, but first of all, Usine is not intended for such tasks directly. The next problem is the organization of work in Usine, which I simply don't buy. It's complicated and the manual is written in Frenglish imho.
EnergyXT has a cool sequencer, drum machine and a nice media/vst library which you can simply share with Cantabile's one. What's most important - it works very stable loaded in Cantabile, which I cannot say about Usine.
I've just finished my evaluation, and I'm going to buy it without any doubts. If someone's got any other nice ideas regarding this topic, please share!

...well, I'm dreaming of a VST that plays keyboard styles...
No faster way to play along anything with nice backing.
Everything I've found and checked out so far is a) no VST and b) looks like dead horses...
I'm not so much into midi either that I know how to crack up keyboard styles - which are a special kind of midi files too - and get that into something else like Energy XT...
Another thing about styles is cord recognition and note mapping which seems to have no solution in the VST world either...
Finally the better sounding styles are made for certain sound modules not available as VST and often not as HW rack too, just as keyboard...
