YEEHAH!!!! :hihi:

Great stuff guys :hihi: cheers for the submissions!

I haven't got very far as yet, cos I've been working on a possible participants prize! .... having worked out a method of assigning individual keys to individual samples, I've got two versions of 'QwertySam' in development. 'QwertySam1' is a basic version for public release, whilst 'QwertySam2' will be the exclusive OSC prize version :)

I reckon I've got the basic version nailed, ..... so anyone like to test?

If so, I'll upload the plug 'as is', along with a couple of Mp3 demos and post a link, and tell you more :)

Post

Ach, what the hell :hihi:

Two mp3 clips, and the plug in this folder ...

Works great in FL8, but FL9 doesn't like being closed down after running it for some reason .... be good to know how it runs in other hosts :)

Looks like it works straightaway in Tunafish:

That was piano roll editing through the mouse. It also works through the QWERTY. Playing it in real-time with MIDI is a bit overwhelming; but so would a regular piano keyboard be at this point in time.

I won't make a file, but let me check that functionality... indeed, it records through qwerty in real-time in tunafish as well. .. will have to try it in Cubase later.

It's really handy; a flat-out 12-channel sample playback VSTI with qwerty support! For those of us with no MIDI input device whatsoever, it's great.

Cheers for giving it a run mrblitz000 :) ...and for the positive comments. So far the participants prize version has Sample and Hold on the LFO for each key ( so its like a random note gen ), and EQ and delay in line with the ADSR. I'm gonna add some sort of scaling selector to the tuning ... as it is, the 'tun' has a continuous +/- 2 octaves. I think it would be better if there were a couple of smaller ranges ( for tuning accuracy ) and/or a stepped/continuous mode switch.
I also considered adding another 12 keys ... but thought this excessive. however, I may well do a 'Q to ]' version to compliment the 'Z to M' range ... of course thats adding nearly another octave as well... we'll see, anyway, back to the OSC. :hihi:

Back on topic?? Jeezz! its not easy setting up drum sounds on this beast :-o ... getting there though ... I think! :?

Layering and compression. You won't go very far in Sputnik on its own for a kick, although it does some fantastic 'industrial' Test Dept-style hits.

Yeah Gamma, I think thats where I'll be going ... just wanted to get as close as poss for sake of simplicity :) .... kinda like what I have so far though, Sounds like the kit sounds are being blown out of a drainpipe :hihi:

Is there a way to DELETE a submission... I've realised the rendering is screwed ( dropped notes... ) and I can't fix it so want to remove the uploaded file...

Cheers!
Can you play Far Far Away?
Yes - how far would you like?

Hello all Sputnikkers ;-)

I am glad to see GTG Sputnik in the One Synth Challenge. And what a creative bunch of tracks already! It's always interesting to hear what people make up with your own VST, and I am pleased to say that I have enjoyed listening to all your tracks today. Great ideas and interesting compositions !
Also I am glad to hear that only a few have experienced the dual-core problem.
The synth was made with an early version of Synthedit, so I would have expected this problem to be more present. Glad it wasn't :-)

Keep posting your songs! Can't wait to hear more :-)

Have fun !

Best regards
Mik, GTG Synths.

No probs wriggleruk, I'll take it out, and you can reup when the track is fixed. :)

... ok, it's out now .... I left the notepad, so gimme a shout if it needs to change, and I'll take that out as well ( ... like if you decide to replace that telecaster guitar part :-o  :hihi: )

Cheers for taking part :)

Ah, that might explain why I didn't see any problems - under Parallels, the synth will only see one virtual core, not all the cores that the machine itself has.

Would camelspace or Bigseq be out of the question if the gtg sounds are left intact??

I'm looking forward to give this a go.

Post

Sorry abstractcats, I'm not familiar with Camelspace or bigseq, so I cant give a definitive answer right now ... and I have to go get my sh!t together for a gig right now ... hopefully another OSCer or two can help re. interpretation of the rules with regard to these tools, and keep you right.

I'll hopefully have a bit of time tomorrow to look into the issue.
