Hi, it's basically a Visual C++ Runtime Error for auxhost.exe. Here's a screenshot of the error message:

Does it help? Do you need more info?

Thanks,

Hi!

Unfortunately it doesn't help identifying the problem. :(

I am still suspecting a permission issue, or a plugin not correctly installed.

As you can see, I can run it here, in C5.1, and windows 7 x64 ( note: I have all the options disabled in jBridge ).

Try disabling UAC, and all that security-related stuff, if it's just a music PC that won't be connected to the net.

Disabling UAC did the trick!

However that's a little weird, cause basically all my other plugins run just fine with UAC enabled. It's just IK Multimedia plugins, which are causing the crash.

Do you know of an alternative solution to permanently disabling UAC, which is not really an option for me?

Thanks.

Cool! At least we know the cause now.

Unfortunately I am not aware of any alternative to disabling UAC.

Too bad. I also find it quite strange, that when I set jBridge to run as Admin, but leave UAC on, the IKM plugins don't crash, but appear with a blank GUI.

Anyways, thanks for your fast and helpful support. It's well appreciated!

I have installed the demo version just to see if it works, and pro-53 crashes so I had to remove it. I have read your troubleshooting guide and as far as I remember, jbridge did say it had an incompatible copy protection; but the question is, is that it or something that can be fixed?

Hi.

Unfortunately there's no demo of pro-53, as the product is discontinued. :(

Some questions::

- Which OS are you using and which VST host? Does it crash with all the hosts when bridged?
- Does it run in a 32bit host with your current OS?

I am going to add more detailed information to that crash warning, to see if there's a solution, if you don't mind testing a new version and tell me what it says, please pm me with your email address. ;)

Thanks.

IK Multimedia use a craptastic copy protection that needs full access to your computer, you can't expect it to run with UAC turned on.

UAC is shit anyway, you can do much better with third-party software, sandboxes and firewalls.

Hi, I'm having 2 Problems trying to use JBRIDGE with the new Kontakt 4 which are causing JBRIDGE to crash. 1. I keep getting the following message when both my host Overture 4 scans the plug-in and also when JBRIDGE opens :" Dispatcher opcode 1 failed (Try disabling any option you may have enabled)" Then I get another message". And 2. When Kontakt 4 opens I get "This Pluging has 64 outputs and JBRIDGE only supports 32 please close the outputs" after this message JBRIDGE crashes. I have run JBRIDGE successfully with both Kontakt 2 and Kontakt 3 without either of these messages appearing or a crash happening  . Is this a problem with the New Kontakt 4 or a problem with JBRIDGE ?

Post

PM me with your user data, I'll be releasing an update soon that should solve the opcode 1 problem, you might want to give the pre-release build a test. ;-)

Regarding K4, please use the 8 or 16 output version.

The new version seems to have cured the Dispatcher opcode 1 failure problem and I have done as you suggested with the only useing the 4 and 8 output version and that solved that problem.

Great! :)

I just stumbled over this tool and have some questions.

1. Do I understand right that JBrige is a wrapper that loads any plugin as a separate process while sending data to the DAW host via inter-process communication?

If so then it should not only allow memory and bit-depth limits to be circumvented, but should also allow another important function:

Keeping the host DAW from crashing when a single plugin crashes!?

Usually a host DAW crashes when a VST/AU plugin crashes because the plugin runs under the process of the host. With JBridge creating separate processes for each plugin it should be no problem to protect against that.

Does JBridge include code that handles plugin crashes and keeps the DAW save from that?

2. Does JBridge induce any additional latencies/plugin buffers?

3. Does JBridge handle the GUI output of the plugins?

If so, shouldn't it be possible to incorporate output transformations that allow plugin GUIs to be rescaled (preferably using GPU accellerated resize algorithms)? This shouldn't be much of a problem with OpenGL, should it?

Thanks in advance! :)
We're all mad in here...
