and i read earlier that gav is putting in grain sync source on the granular osc. this is ace, but if it was paired with a feature you could switch on and off that would snap grains to zero crossing points that would be even better - im imagining taking any sample, syncing it to an oscillator, then playing perfect pitch from the gran oscillator, using the harmonics and dynamics of the original sample, like a wavetable of sorts.
come on you ..... lets have some aphex acid.

I would like a small monomixer (maybe 4 channels) like the big 8 stereomixer, where you can switch on/off channels. Think Prophet 5, with the ability to switch on/off saw, pulse and triangle fast and easy.

Agreed - that could work. If the 'master' fader were dropped then a 4 channel input would fit the standard module width.Kire wrote:I would like a small monomixer (maybe 4 channels) like the big 8 stereomixer, where you can switch on/off channels. Regarding your post on another thread about a CS80 VM emulation, are you planning on releasing a patch bank? I'd certainly be interested in buying if you did so.
Mart.

Yes, I'm working on a patchbank and making progress with the details in the sound. I'll have to think about if I should sell it

What I **really** miss on all existing modules is insufficient modulations ranges : for instance if you put a LFO on FM Mod of a filter and set amount to max, you won't reach the min and max of a manual sweep !
By doing so we'll have quite a wilder modular, the larger ranges the wilder.
Also bigger range of pitchbend mod in CV converter and Glissando mode
I wouldn't mind a Ratio / Phase Mod addition on existing oscillators and ratio modulation on the awesome sounding sine oscillator.
PWM could be improved IMHO
Filter FM effects could be improved as well to reach those formant sounds
When I use the Fixed Pitch module, it doesn't quite take over an oscillator but more like add with the tuning settings of the oscillator, quite annoying !
Having a high speed mode on all LFOs would be welcome like 5 000 Hz or so
As for new modules :
- Sample(s) Delay modulated ( fine control of the number of samples and modulation amount, max 2 000 samples and above )
- Bipolar mixers with modulated amounts
- Full featured LFO with *many* waveforms, Delay - Fade in -Fade Out, retrigger, rate modulated ... etc
- Vector mixer enhanced with a visualization and the option to move a dot with the mouse

it may have come up before, but id love to see the glitch tempo expanded so it records at least eight beats, if not heaps more.
come on you ..... lets have some aphex acid.

is that definitely the case? i believe this works ok AFAIK.Nuisances Sonores wrote:What I **really** miss on all existing modules is insufficient modulations ranges : for instance if you put a LFO on FM Mod of a filter and set amount to max, you won't reach the min and max of a manual sweep !![]()

Well I did tests on many modules, for filter FM / resonance range for instance I would say that the max input of modulation covers 60 % or so of the manual range ... but it's also the case on many of my hardware modules
For Frequency Modulation of oscillators I read in the manual it's 1 octave range, at max you'll have a small tremolo or weak FM effect now if it could cover the whole osc frequency range that would be quite sick

I'd like to see a harmonic ratio choice for all oscillators---this is one of my favorite features of the Nord Modular G2 software. The workaround I use is to feed a harmonic ratio .TUN file from Scala into the Quantize module, and set this as an oscillator's CV input pitch source.Nuisances Sonores wrote: I wouldn't mind a Ratio / Phase Mod addition on existing oscillators and ratio modulation on the awesome sounding sine oscillator.
Lots of great suggestions in this thread. Still waiting for the hardware version that automagically reconfigures itself for every patch!
Thanks for your hard work, Martin!

You could always feed the lfo through a gain moduleNuisances Sonores wrote:Well I did tests on many modules, for filter FM / resonance range for instance I would say that the max input of modulation covers 60 % or so of the manual range ... but it's also the case on many of my hardware modules![]()

Yes it seems to work to a certain amount with VAZ but at times with freq mod of the filters for instance I have artifacts like the waveform suddenly transforming into a huge squarish wave.
Also the FM range of the oscillators is locked to a one octave range so you can't muscle your way into more ...
@Winstontaneous
I don't have a G2 but sounds like a cool feature indeed !
One thing that could be very handy for all modules is a bypass / turn off maybe replacing the expand / collapse on the right, I mean ... what good in a collapsed EG ? the less critical modules to check could be pushed on the borders of the patch even out of direct sight.
The page up / page down currently used as coarse modification of sliders values could be assigned as patch page up / down
A little off topic : I highly recommend the Asustek VW266H ( 26 " - 300 euros + ) at 1920 x 1200 it takes some time to fill it with modules

if you want deeper fm, just put your cv (or whatever is master tuning) through a modulation expander, then use that to control your oscillator pitch. when you add an lfo or whatever to the mod expander, at full depth it will sweep the entire range of the oscillator.

This tip could work in the hardware world, Vaz allows a lot plenty except going over code ...
