Mac, I've not used those plugs personally, so I may not be best placed to decide ... but I'll try. The rules state ...

Sputnik already has decent spacial Fx built in (chorus and reverb/room ) so it should not be a major hardship to limit external FX to EQ, Delay ( unmodulated ), and dynamics (Compression/gate/limiter) plugs only in addition to Sputnik.
So, my thoughts are ...

..if Ruby Tube is used as a 'warmer', then it probably passes as compression and EQ.

Stereo field expander .. no probs that I can see, and the exciter as far as I'm concerned is more or less an EQ if not used in a way to misrepresent sounds from Sputnik.

External reverb is out though .... on account that Sputnik already has reverb.

Hope that helps :) .... if anyone has more experience of the above plugs, and feels differently, please comment :)

OK, thanks :)

Sadly yes :( I think it's related to FL Studio, you're using that too as far as I remember. I wonder if the chokes will be included in the rendering. Haven't tried yet. If so, I'm out unless we find a solution to this. Damn shame cause this is the best osc track i've done so far!
Guys I can't remember If I posted this here or only by private messages. While trying to find a solution for Galileo I've found that disabling the "reset plugins on transport" function in the audio tab settings of FL any problem disappeared on my computer.

In recent times UGO suggested the same thing to a user which had problems with his plugins (SE). He said that this function cause problems to SE plugins, and from what I've seen it's true.

Cheers for that Max! .... I had a look and found that the 'reset' was indeed disabled, but whilst there, I noticed that I had Asio multiplex selected ... changed to Asio4all, and the choking has all but gone!!! :) :) .... I never did have a prob with Galileo, but now thanks to your advice, in a round about way, Sputnik is performing better! :hihi:

Hey... its so nice working without that 'choke' ..! Now I have a track in the making! ... I've got a guitar .... and it has suddenly got me out of 'Stylistics backing track' mode!!! :hihi:

Glad you solved the problems Tattie... anyway what the hell is the ASIO multiplex?? :-?

The thing that doesn't work as opposed to Asio4all, which works ;-P (OK, I don't know technically, but this is the way it is in a very practical sense)

Post

Aaargh ... I should think before I type! ... ... I mean 'Asio full duplex'

Post

I got what you meant, didn't remember the name of the damn thing, either, but it's the one I meant: never works, hellish latency.

Ok now it's clear: "THAT thing that NEVER worked as opposed to Asio4All" :hihi:

Still working on the snares Mac Image

LMAO!!
Oddly, my "choking" dissapeared by itself. When loading the track this morning I had none whatsoever! :D
I'll check the "rest plugins on transport" when back from work and see if it's solved my galileo problem.

My Sputnik track is just about done btw...will upload tomorrow :)

I'm in with Korolev's Idea which is now uploaded.

Sergei Korolev was pretty much the main man in the Russian space race so I kind of thought that he should be remembered in a Sputnik contest. Here in the west we are about to retire the rather dangerous Space Shuttle and yet rockets he helped to put on the pad are still going strong and, indeed, now form the major supply route for the International Space Station.

That's enough education anyway 8)

In the end, I just got too lushed out by Sputnik. I'm hoping that when I play through the current entries I'm going to hear something fantastic that isn't sitting in a bathtub of reverb. I'm just as guilty though... :hihi:

As ever, great fun but this won't be staying in my VST folder.

Completely off topic - check out Kriminal's newest release Oktagon. The man who gave us Felix has another great sounding creation on his hands 8)

Best of luck all,
Mouxbar

---Second Track--- Temple Gardens (2:19)

Made in Cubase Studio 5 (used no inbuild stuff)

-> Sputnik (33-35 instances don't know)

+ Free AfterShockDelay
+ Free PushTec (EQ)

Had to export my track every 2-3 instances of sputnik, won't let me do more.
and... this is it.

wow! cheers for the sumissions guys!! :) look forward to hearing them.

K-bee, funny you should mention that the 'choking' has disappeared ... I've found that the longer I leave the track open, and the longer i let it run, the problem seems to disappear ... but comes back when I close and reopen ... However, although it is still there, it is not at a problematic level now that i've switched to Asio4all. :)

Well I'm usung the asio drivers that came with my EM-U Tracker Pre sound card and I'd really like to continue doing so. I'm under the impression that the driver must be better than ASIO4ALL (I'm probably fooling myself though  )
Things seem to work the opposite way for me though. The longer I have stuff open the more my soundcard crackles. Especially if the system is idle.

Anyway my entry is up! It's using 7 Sputnik instances and no attempt to do drums!
Title is "October 4, 1957" which was the day the first Sputnik was launched into space.
