Yeah, it's not perfect, we know, and there's a new shop in the works, so for now nothing will change in the old one...

Felix, thanks for your response and your help regarding my installation question. I probably wouldn't have thought to write to support about it because it's just the demo. So, thanks!
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

hi,

so sad these plugs use Ilok... :(
I've tested the demo, and love them. But first I don't like dongles, especially if they are useless ;) and I curently have only 2 USB ports on my notebook, one for the mouse and the other for Samplitude's dongle.
Yes, I use Samplitude and it's dongled. I was forced to use it when they introduce it, and this one is really useful ! So in this case, I accept.

Sorry
Cheers
Phil

Get a bluetooth mouse and a Flux:: dongle (our dongles are about the third of the size of an iLok, they're reaaaally neat, and they don't need any drivers...) ..

There are also these things called "hubs" that come in handy. I know... perhaps not ideal, but what are you going to do? I have one on my notebook that's about the size of a credit card (albeit a little thicker). Just a thought... :)

Felix, I know one of the guys on Gearslutz had problems with the installer - I'm seeing the same thing. Syrah removes the Recording Pack plugs. Then, when reinstalling Recording Pack, Syrah goes AWOL. Are they jealous of each other or something?

I'll use Pacifist to extract the plug for now but the devs need to take a look at the installer (this is the full version on Mac BTW).

This is definitely strange.. and it would be great if you could file this with support, as much details, versions, and info as possible about your system and the installers.

support at fluxhome andthedot com

What if you install using the Full Pack II installer?

Thanks a lot!!

Didn't try the Full Pack II installer this time around, but when I got the Recording Pack, that installer wasn't ready for Mac, so I used the Full Pack to install ePure II. I mistakenly installed the full version of Syrah when I wanted the trial version and ePure disappeared that time, although I couldn't be sure at the time the Syrah installer was the culprit. I'll bung a note over to support about it - I've fixed it for now by doing a manual install as it's only an AU and VST that has to go on the system.

The guys here have looked at the installers, and I think there will be new installers comin up anyday soon now, though there has not been more than a cpl of reports about installer problems, so it doesnt seem to be something that applies to any or all systems...

OK , so a month has gone by .. resurecting . Is this thing a dud ??? Price and dongloid .... Am interested because the non-level dependant aspects of "angles share  and hysteris  in the pure comp seem really intrguing...

... was this plugg an attempt ot make dialing these aspects in easier...

Can't really find any reviews out on the web so I thought I'd bumpero

( ya , I think I will demo ...maybe over thanks giving ; depending on how muany projects wifey puts on the honeyDO :hihi: list !!!!!)

It's definitely not a dud. I highly recommend checking it out. It's the easiest compressor from Flux yet and still produces extremely satisfying results.

Cheers!

i like it, using the demo still.. add it in front of your normal compressor
with the 'slow parallel' preset to thicken things up.

After a demo here are some impressions .

I thought tha maybe since the pure series compressor has somewhat of an intimidating interface w/ bookoo controls, that flux was trying to give users an alternate interface that , whilst having fewer , and differing alternative controls , would help improve work-flow .

I don't think that my original thought was quite right ; It seems to be like an advanced Bitter-Sweet where you use controls like "relax bass" or " thicken" to colour the sound . It's combined the expander that's in solera also so you can bring up the low level stuff , but not do it with lots of make up gain .

Although I've never used the Oxford plug called "inflator " ; I like that term here... that is the way I think you would describe the syrah; you can really shape the sound in ways that are pretty unsuspected from a straight comp.... It's like a bit of a eq too ... So I guess it's hard to nail down what this thing is really !!

I like it , but that said , I'm not sure I'm goin to go for it ... very different , and at the moment , I could get the pure comp by itself for a song... probably what I'll do :D

Cheers

Thanks for the interesting reflection over Syrah, and yes, it's a very new way of thinking when handling dynamics, truly creative and in many matters very powerful!

Don't miss out on the big promotion we run right now, up to 50% on all Pure plugins, including our flagship, Epure II EQ!!!
