So that's an incredible 11 tracks submitted, with 11 days still to go!
... cool!
I think this comp will bring the total number of tracks submitted in all OSCs to over 100!
Got a load done on my own track last night, ..got out of that 'stylistics' groove and somehow ended up making way for the bagpipes!

OK, first off, here's that link again ...
http://onesynthcomp.4shared.com/
And....
A funny thing happened to me while working on my track last night. I was adding a couple of phrases which had been going through my head all day, and they kinda grew into a completely new track!
So, it's now uploaded, and I'm still working on my 'first' track!
Dedicated to my friend, musical colleague, and favourite accordian player, Charlie Abel.
"If Ye're Abel, Ye're in"
Host ; fL8
Sounds; 4 x GTG Sputnik
FX; 1 x mda dynamics
.... err, and thats it!
I must say, getting that lead sound , half way between an accordian and a small pipe, makes GTG Sputnik the best synth I have come across for longer than I care to think about! I could write an album on this beast no probs!

I'm uploading my track right now - could have been better, but I've had very, very little time for music in the past days
In fact, I haven't even had the time to listen to the other submissions, yet
Anyway:
SOMEPLACE SAFE
- Sputnik x20 (more or less)
FX
- delay
- exciter
- EQ
- Rubytube
- stereo field widener
It sounds much better with a touch of reverb on the final mix, which I'll add for my album version, but I followed the rules so it's not on the osc version
Sorry about the length, it just came out like this...

Good stuff Mac
.... look forward to hearing your track! ... Cheers for the submission!
The reedy sound of sputnik is proving quite a distraction! I've written two further folk reels since my submission, whilst my 'first' track remains unfinished!

I just came across a link in the Polish Synth thread.
http://lesitedeburnie.free.fr/lalistedeburnie8-en.html
Its a site which has a huge list of free synths .... many of which i've not seen before.
.... great OSC resource!

Yep, very nice site indeed
I don't always agree with the authors opinions (very often he says "This is not very good" while he should say "This is not very good for the kind of music I make and for my taste"), but he's very thorough and does list some very interesting stuff

By the way and OT, I do agree with him when he says "JX 10 by mda (maxim digital audio) is a rather old and misappreciated polyphonic synth that has no interface. But it is a very good 2 oscillators synth, without added effect, that has a stunning analogical texture... With a GUI, it would be so nice and much more used..."
How come nobody feels like giving it a nice gui?
