Not allowed...sorry.

From the license.txt file:
Unauthorized use and distribution of all the plugins as they are
shown on PlugIndex is prohibited (either on CD or on the net).

The best thing is to contact PlugIndex, as according to a previous poster they said they told him it was o'k to re-distribute the plugin. I thought the plugin was by different dev anyway, but I won't argue the point as I'm not 100% sure.
Maybe they changed their name or was taken over by another software company.

Anyway I have VibraphoneTS and I can say that it is a good little plugin. I like the sound it is very realistic. I believe it was put up by someone on the old vst re-upped thread.

I use xoxos' plug, as it goes.. very nice it is too :)

As it turns out...this is a re-hash of a thread here:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... s&start=15

which I had forgotten about.

Bottom line: Plugindex gave permission for distribution, so here it is:

VibraphoneTS

Lesson for me: work on memory retention..
Lesson for others: use the KVR Search util

Seems it is still available for free on Plugindex but I think you need to register to download it.

Only in countries that signed the Berne Convention.

If copyright can be violated at anyone's choice, then it becomes meaningless and hence worthless. All your intellectual property turns to dust.

If you want truly free, use a Creative Commons license or a GPL-style one.
*takes deep breath* i love kvr..

in this particular case, how can the person who owns the copyright lose?
The argument isn't about a particular case, it's about equal protection.
If you can make an exception for one case, you can make an exception for another, and another. When you do this you are attempting to erode the rights of others for your own benefit.

If you want to explicitly avoid this situation, then release your work under a license that allows redistribution, or place it into the public domain. If you want to force others to relinquish their rights just because it is inconvenient to you that they are asserted (even by default), that's wrong in general, even if your argument for one specific case is understandable.

You can't get your way on this without everyone else (including governments and corporations and evil people) getting the same privilege. And that won't fly.

Whether or not it's ok to distribute this plugin (or any other piece of software with a similar license) has nothing to do with "how can the person who owns the copyright lose?", or "it was free to begin with", or "But it's now abandonware, is it not?". Your conscience does not dictate what is right or wrong in this case.

It's purely a legal issue.

pljones nailed it:

End of story.

SWTrex
end of story? unfortunately the law+order geeks seem to be totally wrong this time.
dropped a mail at plugindex and they told me VibraphoneTS is free and can be redistributed without any problems.
b4 you call next time a lawyer use ur common sense :P
That's a license. It helps you in this case. It doesn't change anything that's been said here.
