Oh my, I just checked with Cubase, you're right! It's just that the interface is far from nice and when I tried it I just couldn't get anything out of it, while with the JX10 I had no problem at all..
So now, how come nobody talks about it (and how come you always know all these things)?

Post

Yes, it does sound a little different, it's more brilliant and not always pleasantly so (I guess I still prefer jx10, but it could just be a psychological thing, I'll have to play around with it a little more).

Because there was LOT of chatting about it!! :D Anyway seems people forget about JX-10 / JX-16... When the new versions of Cubase have been released it became abandonware...

OK, correct me if I'm missing anything.
*The general concensus is that we go with Gargoyle ( gulp! )

*The usual 3 week period for entries is cool.

*The voting period should be longer.

OK, if thats what folks want, then I'm fine with that :)

My only concern ( if you can call it a concern ) was that activity tends to tail off towards the end of each period, and I wondered if it would help the momentum to turn the comps around quicker. The way it is at the moment, we have roughly a 5 week turnaround. Maybe the solution ( if a solution is required ) is to do as we are doing with the Halloween comp, and launch comps at the same time as the voting starts for the previous comp.
That way we can be a bit more liberal with the voting period, but still comfortably achieve a 4 week turnaround. The nice thing about that is, that if you have to miss out on a comp for any reason, the next one will come around a wee bit quicker :) .... how does that sound?

Post

That might be a nice solution, yes :) The only drawback would be that the partecipants should find the time both for voting and for working on their next track, but it doesn't sound like a terrible problem...

I vote aye, what about the others?

Post

aye from me too!

:3 can't wait to do something new with the Gargoyle thing!
Already used it for some creepy things. I think i am good in doing creepy tracks :hihi: (or i hope so)

I used gargoyle a couple of times on it, but you wouldn'd really recognize, couse of heavy reverb and distortion.

Looking forward to the contest! :3

XD, ok so... when you open that page you hace to scroll down a little bit, there are like 6 little arrows with a trackname assigned to each. Just click on the arraw of the track you want to listen to. (track will then start automatically)
The site is a bit... "overlinked" :?

Edit: Interesting link you put there. Think i'll have to read all of it tomorrow... like 18 pages. So... but this isn't for the hallowen contest ore is it? so waht is this projekt all about (just a couple of short descriptional sentences please )

I am glad to see GTG Sputnik in the One Synth Challenge. And what a creative bunch of tracks already! It's always interesting to hear what people make up with your own VST, and I am pleased to say that I have enjoyed listening to all your tracks today. Great ideas and interesting compositions !
Also I am glad to hear that only a few have experienced the dual-core problem.
The synth was made with an early version of Synthedit, so I would have expected this problem to be more present. Glad it wasn't :-)

Keep posting your songs! Can't wait to hear more :-)

Have fun !

Best regards
Mik, GTG Synths.
Great synths mate!

No dual core problems here either and I'm using XP Pro x64! GTG synths...most logical!
