FYI... Found a comment on a forum for the Hartmann Neuron that suggests that the software developer (Stephan Bernsee) is working on a next generation version of the Neuron VS for his new company (Prosoniq):
Btw you might be interested to know that the Neuron technology is far from being obsolete, Prosoniq is working on a new product that will hit the stores in 2010. I can't give you more info than that at this time, but the technology is definitely being worked on.

For me the Neuron VS was a very interesting synth .. at times it felt that it was barely in control of itself (almost on the verge of desending into chaos!).. a lot of fun!

Another 750$ softsynth?

No thanks.

As long as it's priced accordingly with the rest of the market, then fine. Otherwise, the pricetag was WAY too high. Also, with how buggy it was, I'll stick with a wait and see attitude too.

Prosoniq is simply too pricey for me (like the original price of Neuron VS :nutter: ). As long as they have a stable customer base, they won't change anything (price politics, no more windows).

Yes, the pricing on the Neuron VS was waaay too high - I thought that this was to 'protect' the Hardware version though, which cost over $4k when it came out.

Didnt Prosoniq go Mac-only?
An idiot on Set Theory:

...still bs though. Wanna protect your H/W? Don't show everyone that it can be done relatively well with S/W, by releasing your own H/W synth as a softsynth. I can tell... this company is very smart -.-

They still have some freebie PC vst's... which was gonna be my next point. Only thing of theirs I ever used was NorthPole (still do, even though I have Nitro and a plethora of other filters)... It's dirty, inaccurate, messy, noisy, gritty and BLOODY BRILLIANT. And FREE!clickaty! :hihi:

MAC only?

f**k this shit then.

Post

Yep... Prosoniq is Mac only now.

The Neuron at the time was really a pc inside a fancy controller box. I mean, literally. Don't know if you had the opportunity to look inside one.
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

I fail to see how it being mac only would change the product quality itself to "shit"

Post

i had the original Neuron back then and while interesting sounds
could be created, it NEVER made in a song, so i sold it.

never regreted to sell though.

As a VS owner I would be excited by this if it wasn't for the fact that Prosoniq are so anti PC. It seems that even if there was an upgrade path (which I would hope there was) I would not be able to use it without buying a Mac.

Post

try loading a mac program on a pc then :hihi:

It ran a version of Linux I believe.

Well, if the price remains as old Neuron VS, PLUS they decide not to cover both VI platforms, that's shitty enough.
