Looking for a softsynth that has great presets and sits in the mix well

Unfortunately I do not have much time to tweak instruments or play with trying to make a mix work by adding external effects, so I am looking for a softsynth that comes with great presets "out of the box" and the tracks sit in the mix well with each other. If the presets already have effects added to them which helps them sit well in the mix , that's OK; I just don't have the time to spend tweaking things.

providing a musical genre is mandatory i'm afraid in this case.

Any good softsynth should suffice.
Just invest a bit of time learning about parametric equalisers.
imo if you are serious about making music there's no point in avoiding
what is an essential part of the process.
It really isn't that difficult to get your head around and in no time you will be sculpting your sounds to sit exactly where you want them.

It would be easier if you let us know what type of music you are writing.
Alchemy comes with hundreds of great sounding presets that are easily adjusted using "Simple" mode and the remix pad / perform controls. Thousands of variations are possible from the hundreds of included presets, with a minimum of fuss.
It's great for everything from pads to basses and leads. The new BigTone preset bank is perfect for electronica styles, including trance and ambient. You can try the three week fully functional demo version, see the links in my sig.
Peace,
Andy.

That covers the accordion sounds he needs. But it doesn't really nail the bagpipe sounds he'll also need.djanthonyw wrote:No it's not...luxth wrote:providing a musical genre is mandatory i'm afraid in this case.

I agree it has great presets but without a basic understanding of equalisation things are going to get cluttered very quickly especially ifpsylevation wrote:Sylenth1 has great presets and sits well in the mix right away...
the presets are drenched in various effects. Sure effects can be switched out but a far better option imo is to learn how to control and sum them together without too much need to sacrifice the original presets.
That is where parametric equalisers come to the rescue.
There's no shortcut but fortunately its an easy process to learn that will more than repay the end user in time investment.
No synth should claim it will sit in a mix. I don't understand statements like that.

Yes the ability of 'sitting right in a mix' is mainly related to instrument design.
I have already stated this a few times but mostly, believe it or not, except if you're working in Tarnce styles, or a few Dance styles that require very few instruments playing together, a Bass preset that peaks at 3khz with a harsh resonance, drenched both in delay in reverb, will have hard times to 'sit well' in a mix of other musical genres. As all instruments wich covers the entire range of frequencies.
And I do know some synths wich come fully equipped with such presets.
Then some synths have more ability to sit well in a mix than others : Good and clear bright oscillators, smooth and precise filters, associated with certain styles of sound design will offer instruments that do sit awfully well in a mix.
Two simple examples : Korg LC Analog Edition, and ImpOSCar. The 'simple' Polysix especially is incredible when you insert it in a mix.
(and, hopefully, our soundbanks instruments do sit well in a mix .... Real basses, real keys, stabs, Leads, Tronics with precise frequency works aso
)
