actually theres not one instance of strobe on that track.it is a culmination of vengeance samples from 3 different collections,1 loop from vengeance(that low volume percussion loop thats mainly audible during the breakdown),and antares filter on the bassline.djanthonyw wrote:Oh it very well could be. Personally, I never said that Faxing Berlin was Synth Squad, but his later stuff definitely is.rob_lee wrote:djanthonyw wrote:Welcome to KVR, great first post. He used a V-Station Anth
You can clearly hear that just about everything in his most successful track "Community Funk" is pretty much ALL Strobe. That track was on Beatport's top 100 forever... maybe it still is, I don't know I don't feel like looking right now.

You can't get the presets.
Joel uses OnePingOnly with the anallog extension that is still on pre-alpha stage (shhhh top secret).
Now, back on topic, I'd say you can recreate most of his sounds with a good VA such as Sylenth, just take some time listening to figure it out, you can do it.

I have heard great things about synth squad but i didn't actually think deadmau5 made his stuff in it. His stuff sounds like it's been passed through like a tube pre. got a kind of warmth to it, unless he just had some really good mastering. I watched a couple of his DJ sets on youtube its like a dulled down version of Jonathan Peters setup. It inspired me to pick up a copy of Live and is it just me or does it make no sense on how to use it? Especially DJing! I just don't get it, its like an inside out multi-tracker/sequencer. I gotta take a class on it I guess.
