On the voting front I'll go for the way of keeping it simple - but a bit less so than at present...

On that front, any sort of top three system would be fine by me.

Anymore and I think we'd loose interest rather than gain it...

Can I assume that Gargoyle has been decided on now?

I'm already working on something anyway

And I had not heard of the Eurosong Contest but I did see something about it on anther thread but it sounds like a great idea. I guess if there were going to a USsong contest, as far as electronic music goes I guess it should be based on the Detroit area as I've heard that there is huge techno/dance seen there.

Oh! I did come close to needing to learn Italian back in the 1990's when I dated a girl who's mother is from Italy and they would go to see here in laws about once a year in Italy.

I should mention I am a Tiesto fan as well.

Any good Italian techno/dance/electro bands I should here??

You're probably getting mixed up with another contest, the Eurosong thing is actually the festival of kitsch songs and singers - that's what makes it a huge lot of fun to watch

I must say, though, it was much more so up to a few years ago, when every country's representatives sang in their own language songs written by composers from their own country; now, unfortunately, most everybody sings in English songs written by composers that are not necessarily "local". The result is songs that all sound the same (US/UK charts, that is), and that doesn't make much sense...
Anyway, now and then some truly good songs emerge from the contest.
Some years ago Italy partecipated with this song (begins at around 1 minute). I love the song and the girl has a beautiful voice - too bad the three minute limit imposed the contest forced them to present a shortened version of this track, plus the bad sound typical of this event

If you like old stuff my suggestion is for Datura & Usura, I used to be a fan of them when I was a teen

. Thanks for this question, gave the opportunity to come back in time. I think disco music was more interesting years ago and people like Datura and Usura has been pioneers of the modern techno/dance music. Back in time there was a lot interesting stuff, people used to work with samplers in a more creative way.
