just copying a section of my instrument tests over at the 'VST-RTAS Mac bug list' over at the FXpansion forum.
Just to background - I've previously used these instruments (apart from CM-303) in OS9 Protools V5 via freeware VST wrappers such as Ugly VSTi Interface and MultiVSTshell. In these setups the OS9 versions of your instruments worked well.
And to emphasise - I know these are probably wrapper/RTAS problems, but I thought seeing some off these bugs might make you twig as to some of the problems. These are great instruments and it would be great to get them going on OSX !
DS-404 sampler –
* Bits of the interface scatter all over screen when you load instruments - a knob here, a fader there. Sort of a Dali/Picasso VST
* Clicking the main interface mostly brings them back again.
* Some patches can not be read (opaque), but the rest sound fine - it's a GUI bug mainly.
Edit 23.12.03 - tried a new copy of DS-404 from the jan issue of CM, still same problem
CM-303 -
Presets all sound the same (is this usual?) and faders/knobs don't move when you change presets.
SR-202 drum machine (CM / Muon) :
Only loads WAVs, won't load AIFFs.
OS9 versions of this i used (using freeware wrappers like MultiVSTshell and UglyVSTi) always loaded both WAVs and AIFFs. Is the OSX version meant to load both (anyone?)
Edit 23.12.03 - tried a new copy of SR-202 from the jan issue of CM, still same problem
CM-101 synth :
No presets. “Load all” sees the CM101.fxb bank, and “load one” sees individual user patches, but they don’t load (sound doesn't change) and preset always says “empty”. If you create your own preset you can indvidually save it via the Protools saving system.
that's all !
