Well, if the price remains as old Neuron VS, PLUS they decide not to cover both VI platforms, that's shitty enough.

Can any of you guys who happen to own the Hartmann Neuron VST, tell me if the red knobs or Nuke section have midi learn, or any way to tweak these parameters if I do not have the stick peripheral that came with it?

So we are currently assuming it will be Mac only, have a high price and ill say most probably a stupid controller/dongle; most likely this will be a usb whistle will only serve the purpose of letting the user blow into it so as to change preset.

IMO as they had a vst before (although buggy) is they could repackage that into a new synth and sell it for around the standard £200 mark. My memory of playing the VS was that it was a good and unique enough sound that no doubt we all would have got excited about again and a lot of people would pick it up. However I have no idea what their market strategy is and I'm sure they would have already thought about these things.

Actually we know for certain it will be Mac only and that it will be compatible with the same Nuke that came with the Neuron VS (although that doesn't mean it won't have an updated version too). Apparently lucky Mac users can use the Nuke with all recent Prosoniq products that have XY pads (such as Prosoniq Morph) but as usual us PC users are left out in the cold even though we paid the same for them.

No word yet on upgrade paths from the Neuron V though

Well coming from a company that went under in the music instrument business you would think they would be trying to reach as many people as possible. I also remember a lot of people being pissed when they went under as they were left with buggy software suggesting they would be best to attempt to make some kind of amens with past customers (i.e. offering a reasonable upgrade path to PC users of the VS).

They still have some freebie PC vst's... which was gonna be my next point. Only thing of theirs I ever used was NorthPole (still do, even though I have Nitro and a plethora of other filters)... It's dirty, inaccurate, messy, noisy, gritty and BLOODY BRILLIANT. And FREE!clickaty!

Well, they did price the softsynth version accordingly - 800 or 900 bucks?

Prosoniq of course made some killer plugins like Norhtpole, Morph and RayVerb that are still very useful and sound fantastic. Too bad they discontinued their PC stuff.

This thing looks quite Neuron-ish. It appears to be closed in that you can't create your own models, but looks like it's got a similar model-morphing principle behind it. http://www.eisenberg-audio.de/einklang

They could do with updating all the promotional stuff though. The site (and even the Soundcloud) still has the vibe of a fundraiser rather than something that'll entice buyers.
