Since posting this, I've gone ahead and purchased a Little Phatty Stage Edition. I love it!
Since recording with it (check out sig for samples using the Little Phatty, especially towards the end of the 2nd clip called "Long Road"), I've learned a lot about the differences between analog and virtual analogs/VST. Some things which I did not expect...For instance, I noticed that I could EQ the %^&$ out of it, boost high frequencies to extremes, and it still sounds good...It also seems that many sounds cut through even if the volume of the track is down to nearly zero.
There must also be some kind of soft clipping at the output stage on the Little Phatty...looking at the recorded waveforms, it looks very even, but not at all clipped, as if it's gone through a nice expensive outboard limiter...
And, I would be lying if I didn't say that I get a kick out of having a synth with the lovely Moog logo sitting right here by my side.
