I have just posted a video on my YouTube channel using Ocean Way Drums & my Roland TD12. I had some troubles getting my VH-11 Hi-Hat to cooperate with the mapping but I think it turned out okay.

Please check it out & you'll be able to see how Ocean Way Drums works & sounds with V-Drums.

Here's my link:

Thanks,
Kim :)

Very cool and great playing Kim! I'm also glad the bear likes it.

You know the hi hats sound really good as does everything. Ocean Way Drums is good at cutting through the mix. You know one of the reason is the use of mics and the signal chain at Ocean Way. Very pure. Some other drum products out there achieve highs through EQ which is fine but sometimes that is a sacrifice of the true clarity and phase shift of the high frequencies. Preserving top fidelity is a specialty of someone like Allen Sides and Steven Miller who recorded Ocean Way Drums with access to the best kept selection of microphones and a custom console that is extremely clean.

I really love to capture drum sounds that have the elements of what is used on albums... I think Collective Soul has even recorded at Ocean Way before (probably). Anyway, it's nice to see you enjoying it. I really love to see videos of people playing our stuff and we don't get to often enough. So, you've earned yourself $10 in epointz just for sharing it (wooooooo!!!) That's credit on the www.esoundz.com site for more downloads. Enjoy!

Hi Squids!!

Thank you & yes, the bear loves it!! He's become a big fan of OWD!! :)

I agree about OWD - it does cut right through the mix & I didn't really realize that until I made the video. I really love the 'rawness' of the sounds; like I'm playing an acoustic kit. I call it 'Raw yet Controlled'

I am enjoying OWD very much, I must admit, I also love tweaking the sounds to get just the right sound for me. I feel more in control that way.

WOW...thank you Squids for the $10 in epointz!! That is so nice of you :)
I will be using it for sure!

Kim

PS: I'm the one on the drums below - had a bit of a 'bad hair day' LOL !!

Hi drumrgal. I've seen your posts over at Vdrums.com (I'm a fellow V-Drums user). I watched your video and the drums sound really good.

It would be virtually impossible to not smile while watching you play with that infectious smile, clearly having fun. It's nice to see more drummers around here.
