You know the hi hats sound really good as does everything. Ocean Way Drums is good at cutting through the mix. You know one of the reason is the use of mics and the signal chain at Ocean Way. Very pure. Some other drum products out there achieve highs through EQ which is fine but sometimes that is a sacrifice of the true clarity and can be phase shifted in the high frequencies. Preserving top fidelity is a specialty of someone like Allen Sides and Steven Miller who recorded Ocean Way Drums with access to the best kept selection of microphones and a custom console that is extremely clean.
I really love to capture drum sounds that have the elements of what is used on albums... I think Collective Soul has even recorded at Ocean Way before (probably). Anyway, it's nice to see you enjoying it. I really love to see videos of people playing our stuff and we don't get to often enough. So, you've earned yourself $10 in epointz just for sharing it (wooooooo!!!) That's credit on the www.esoundz.com site for more downloads. Enjoy!
