Best way to approach this beastie and once you get your head around it you can then use the presets as a starting block and de-effect them if you so wish... It's a kind of a VA with some knobs missing and others er, added.

On the subject of VST's I've been playing with "acidrack" which is a just released freebie reported on KVR.

A possible for a future OSC imho. Essentially a two osc VA synth although it has some very industrial ring modulation built in and a very fun random button. Whatever you do, don't use the installed handfull of presets which are unusable. I'm getting some monster industrial textures and noises out of this together with normal VA type stuff. A keeper in my VST racks anyway

.... might be a good time to start discussing the next synth for the november contest.

I've got the Dec/Xmas one sussed .... I'll be releasing 'Flex-N-Stein 4' soon, and as it has already been suggested that a 'tattiemannie' synth be used, this one will be perfect. I've been tweaking it and trimming it for a good couple of weeks now, and want to make sure it's bang on in every detail before release. Anyone wishing to help by testing it on platforms other than FLS ... and perhaps get ahead of the competition .... can PM me. You're gonna love this beast

At some point, a good synth for this contest might be the CS33 HAHAHA synth. There's also an 'evolution edition' of this, which might be even more appropriate for the OSC.

Mouxbar, cheers for the heads up re. Acidrack .... thats one cool beast! ....definitely well in the running for an OSC! ... it may be a little too versatile for my liking, but there's scope for some crazy sounds!

Well, I tried HahahaCS33 out, some cool sounds alright! I think I prefer Acidrack, but I reckon CS33 might be more challenging ... dunno.

Anyone else? I hope to launch the november contest when the Gargoyle goes to the vote ...28th Octoberish ... it would be nice to hear what others think, or indeed if there are any compatibility issues with either of the above, or any other previously suggested synth?

And, ... how are those tracks coming along?

Slowly... I think I finished it, finally, but I need to listen with fresh ears before posting it - this period has been very demanding (not because of the challenge, because of life in general) and I could only make music on and off (mostly off). Anyway, good or bad, I'll post something before the deadline

No more suggestions for our next synth yet? I'm favouring acidracks at the moment, but I've been giving Richman another twiddle, and also revisited 'leto' ... a Jen emulation ( Ah the memories ).... Apart from sfxr, I dont think we've challenged a monosynth yet ... have we? What ya thinkin then? What's it to be?

Anyway, 6 days to go!
.... as opposed to the 6 hours between now and the close of the Sputnik vote ... and we NEEEEEEEED someone to sort out that tied No.1 slot!!

Just thought I would add this...

The winner has a choice between Anomaly 1 through VI as .sfz files, .sf2 files or both..... Just let me know....
