I was amazed with Novation Automap for Iphone, the only bad thing is that on most apps like Automap you need a wifi to operate.
What?When?Where?

The strange agency stuff looks interesting. Just came across this video for a new app: http://vimeo.com/5982253setAI wrote:I didn't mention one of my personal favorites: Curtis Heavy
to me this is the ultimate expression of Burroughs/Gysin cut-ups- take a sample and explore it's inner universe of sounds
before I got my Ipod touch i thought I would be all over the keyboard synths and mpc pad samplers- but as it turned out I really didn't like the way these work on this form factor-
so far the apps that I really like to play and program are the ones with X/Y kaoss -like pads for control and synths/samplers with EDITABLE parameters and effects- there are many good sounding apps that turned out to be just toys for me because i could not make/use my OWN sounds-
so far Dopplerpad has really blown me away just from the samplers and the interface- some of the sounds are OK but since I cannot tweak them into my own sounds I don't really use them- I hope in the future they add some custom editable synths -
Nice! I thought i'd be all over the synths and drum machines as well but the problem i've found with those is editing on the screens so i'm going to get a stylus before i buy anything like beatmaker or hexatone. Has anyone mentioned nLog?

Do you definitely need wifi or can you do it with an ad hoc connection? Or remote desktop? I was reading this the other day: http://www.daslight.com/support/viewtop ... 28983a0d46a6jamp wrote:I was amazed with Novation Automap for Iphone, the only bad thing is that on most apps like Automap you need a wifi to operate.

Has anyone used the Blue Mikey on an iPod touch with Wallander's WiVi Band app? I wonder if it works as well as the app does with the built in mic on the iPhone.
Thanks for any info.

It's possible as long as wifi is somewhere on your network, that it would work. I don't have my wifi card activated on my laptop when using it as a DAW but since it's networked to my LAN which includes a wireless router downstairs I can still access those iphone apps that set up webdav folders for resources.musikmachine wrote:Do you definitely need wifi or can you do it with an ad hoc connection? I love Xewton Music Studio to compose some songs.
Noise IO+Beat Maker for techno like music sounds good.
The NLogSynth is a good analog like synth also. Ellatron is a good sounds bank, but there is none sequencer inside. These are what I really play and use. I did not try everything : some idea in this discussion are interesting.

PLEASE make Tuareg for the iPhone! Have a look at GoodReader (PDF viewing app) - the web-based interface for uploading files works wonderfully for me, and I would imagine that import/export of files would work fine like this for Tuareg too. Would you be able to export Tuareg files from the iPhone and load them in to the PC version? If so, count on 2 sales from me (iPhone and PC)brambos wrote:Problem is (at least I haven't been able to solve is) that the iPhone filesystem is completely sandboxed. There's no simple way to get usersamples in or out of an application, except via a clumsy web-server construction (or emailing things to yourself and crap like that).dan_s wrote:thank you bram. i actually like this since you can make your own kits, most other programs you can only select the kit and not mix and match.
on a side note, why is there no simple drum machine like this where u can load your own samples?? seems easy enough.
If anyone can tell me a solution to that, I could even make a Tuareg for iPhone!
One thing I would love from iPhone music apps that I have yet found is a good loop sequencing app. Something like the Computer Music freebie http://www.higefive.com/apps/ComputerMusic/ would be great, but the only ones that I like the sequencer of don't allow importing of your own loops, as far as I can tell.

I didn't read through all of the posts, so sorry if this has been mentioned already.

This would be my choice. I use their other instruments, and they're excellent. I think this would be a lot of fun on an iPhone. 808,909,303
