ok, here are some more. however, these all pale compared to floyd

creed (southern creed 1979) - self titled
elo - time
jarre - magnetic fields
jarre - oxygen
pat metheny and lyle mays - as falls wichita so falls wichita falls
klaatu - hope
marilyn manson - antichrist superstar
meat puppets - too high to die
wheatus - self titled
everything - supernatural
foo fighters - the color and the shape
the rocky horror picture show
vangelis - heaven and hell

i agree with heroes and downward spiral

we need a best live album thread

I actually decided to listen to this one again about two weeks before his death. I had heard Billy Jean recently again after not hearing it for a long time and quite liked it so I sort of hoped to hear the album with fresh ears again and discover something great out of the context of all the overblown hype around it in the 80's.

I was disappointed. Sure, it's 80's state of the art popmusic. All well and good. But the lyrics are cheesy (and some of the music too) and there is an emptiness at the heart of it. It's big plastic corporate pop.

Now the guy's dead and the hype is back and the vultures around him are making a lot of money again. For me he turned out to be not the king of pop, but the personification of everything that is wrong with pop.

I also like 'Billy Jean' very much, but i think 'Bad' is much better than 'Thriller'.
