I haven't checked out the demo yet. I probably should. I also noted that this is available via some retailers, so it might pay to shop around a bit or keep an eye out for a sale. I think Audiomidi has it for $145.
...and yeah, I haven't heard much talk at all about it here.

Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

Says who? I agree with ttoz, they aren't even along the same lines. Completely different. RP may not touch it for YOU, but that may not be the case for everyone. Both are great verbs, I will agree. But I disagree about them being on entirely different levels. They are just different verbs.Midiworks wrote:Thanks Kriminal !
Yes, RP is very nice but can't touch Aeather.
The level of Aeather is way different,
adjust them and you will hear what I mean.
RP is indeed a fantastic verb, and I'm surprised it doesn't get more mentions around here. Very high quality and very flexible with some cool little twists.

Who said it was "the case for everyone"?koolkeys wrote:RP may not touch it for YOU, but that may not be the case for everyone. Both are great verbs, I will agree. But I disagree about them being on entirely different levels.

Nobody, in those words. He did say "adjust them and you will see what I mean", assuming that everyone would come to the same conclusion if they compared the two. He talked as if it were definitive, when it isn't, IMO.PaulSC wrote:Who said it was "the case for everyone"?koolkeys wrote:RP may not touch it for YOU, but that may not be the case for everyone. Nothing against Aether. I do think it is an excellent verb as well. I'm not even saying one is better than the other. Just different.

I personally didn't hear enough differences to justify the "completely different" remark. I do agree about adjusting the settings, because when I demoed RP, I didn't find anything that Aether couldn't do already and I didn't find anything that RP could do better. Mostly, I just liked the GUI better, but that was it.
Anyways, It is after all just a software reverb that you didn't design, and everyone is entitled to their own opinions right? I also don't think Kriminal needed to add a "IMO" in his post... it seemed pretty clear to me it was his opinion and not that he was speaking for everyone. I only add this because you seem just a tad bit defensive there, when normally you are a pretty leveled guy (basing this on your posts).
Otherwise I could really care less but am glad ttoz found a reverb of choice (for now).

See, Brent... this too, is clearly ttoz's opinion. No need for a "IMO" or to be confused with him speaking for everyone (unless ttoz is really trying to speak for everyone and in that case, my sincere apologies to you all).ttoz wrote:disagreed, and aether is more grainy, which i personally do not prefer.Midiworks wrote:Thanks Kriminal !

RP verb is also MUCH easier to get instant gratification out of.
@ttoz, I disagree. IMO Aether is not "more grainy" and I believe Aether is MUCH easier to get instant gratification out of. But, that's just my opinion.

I didn't say they necessarily sounded completely different, but meant that they both work in their own ways. The way you design your sound is different. Different sounds can be made between the two as a result, but the primary difference is how they work.elxicano wrote:koolkeys wrote:Says who? I agree with ttoz, they aren't even along the same lines. I appreciate the compliment! But I didn't reply to Kriminal.Anyways, It is after all just a software reverb that you didn't design, and everyone is entitled to their own opinions right? I didn't say people weren't entitled to their opinions. I just was responding to Midiworks' claim that once everyone adjusted the two, they would see that one was a whole other level above the other. That was him assuming that everyone's opinion would end up being the same. I didn't mean to imply that he couldn't have his OWN opinion though.
I have nothing against either reverb. I think both are great. This wasn't anything to slight either one, but just to point out that they aren't really direct competition to each other as they do work quite a bit differently. Obviously, you can get some of the same sounds, but each one in the end has it's own strong points and it's own character.

Such a big controversy about a missing 'S',koolkeys wrote:Says who? I agree with ttoz, they aren't even along the same lines. Completely different. I meant to say 'levels' sorry for that.
Volume/levelS are set way too different on both reverbs,
if you adjust them to the same output levels, sometimes this is also necessary for many of the independent programs,
then you will hear the quality differences within the sound.
RP is tricking the ear by being somehow 'louder',
so after correcting this you can hear what's it all about.
Anyway, RP really surprised me.
In a very positive way.
Interesting, how the crown of reverb has changed hands lately .
I don't believe anybody needs 10 different reverbs
but at least 2 or 3 and I would say,
RP should be one of them.

It's seriously 'better' than Arts Acoustic Reverb?
The main reverbs I use are AAR, Reverberate (for convo) and the IK Classik Studio Reverbs.
Tried aether, but it wasn't really my thing. I'm going to have to try RP verb now. The GUI is certainly one of the finest I've ever seen, I hope the sound is as good.

John
