yes, while AA was my favorite reverb for a long time,
[ and it is still nice ] a new generation of reverbs have emerged.
It seems that we're going into the quality range of some of the top hardware units.
I think it is really amazing I did not expect that so soon.
I think you have to play around a bit more with
Aeather, at first it is a little bit tricky to get the results you want but giving it more time will be very rewarding.

I think the problem was the missing 's' along with the statement about RP not being able to touch Aether. So perhaps a mixture of miscommunications.Midiworks wrote:Such a big controversy about a missing 'S',koolkeys wrote:Says who? I agree with ttoz, they aren't even along the same lines. Completely different. RP may not touch it for YOU, but that may not be the case for everyone. Both are great verbs, I will agree. But I disagree about them being on entirely different levels. They are just different verbs.Midiworks wrote:Thanks Kriminal !
Yes, RP is very nice but can't touch Aeather.
The level of Aeather is way different,
adjust them and you will hear what I mean.
RP is indeed a fantastic verb, and I'm surprised it doesn't get more mentions around here. Very high quality and very flexible with some cool little twists.

I meant to say 'levels' sorry for that.
I don't really hear it though. I think both are high quality, but structurally they are very much different, and therefore some of the sounds you can get between the two are COMPLETELY different, typically when going for creative use and not traditional reverb. I don't think there is any trickery going on with volume levels though.Volume/levelS are set way too different on both reverbs,
if you adjust them to the same output levels, sometimes this is also necessary for many of the independent programs,
then you will hear the quality differences within the sound.
RP is tricking the ear by being somehow 'louder',
so after correcting this you can hear what's it all about.

I know with software reverbs I have way many more than I need or even want. The problem was that this accumulation was the result of searching for something decent. I'm glad that recently it seems we have some very fine choices before us.
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

Ok this thread made me demo RP-Verb, before i used to love Platinum verb in logic but since working more in live i was forced to find a new favourite verb, i went with EOS by audiodamage. RP-Verb is very nice, i in particularly like the late reflections, it sounds very nice but still sitting on the fence with this not that its no good but just thinking what it offers i cant get with EOS and a couple other plugs, audio midi seem to have the best deal atm on it

Perhaps once everyone can try the new lexicon reverbs this topic will be obsolete?

It will become obsolete for anyone who has $1500 burning a hole in their pocket.
CSR tends to feel 'dark' to me. But that can be fixed. It just takes more tweaking. Just like Aether can take a bit of tweaking. Having that much control is good though, so no complaints there. Just that sometimes by the time you're done tweaking the inspiration of the moment goes away.
I'll have to check out EOS. I'm not on Logic, so that's okay.
CSR and Breverb both have plate algos. There's also a plate verb from the Eventide one... from the 2016. I don't have that one though, so can't really comment on it.

Contrary to popular belief. Paul (aka Sureno) is in fact NOT a black man.
