Contrary to popular belief. Paul (aka Sureno) is in fact NOT a black man.
and it's P Diddly, not Paul
Finally tried the RP-Verb demo - it can actually be as smooth as my LXP bundle. amazing

How's cpu usage? Is it full stereo? (Ie. if you send a track fully panned left to a send with RP-Verb, will you get reverb back only on the left channel?)
Aether's a bit of a killer in Stereo mode.

IK's CSR has been my go-to for a long time now. The Grand Hall patch, in varying degrees, is just superb. No artifacts, just great verb.
That said, I just bought EOS because I was looking for something with a lower CPU hit. EOS is ok, and does have a smaller footprint, but the hall is a bit metallic sounding. To my eye, the presets seem to encourage use as a send effect, which is precisely what I do with it.
I got the $5 Breverb download from AudioMIDI which only includes the plates (no hall). I don't use plates much, but I must say that these are really excellent sounding and I've managed to get some very good patches for added room ambience etc. out of it.
Epicverb is great, but again has a big CPU hit. Then there are the reverb emulations that come from delay programs like Timeless 2. What's up with that?
Any way, I've probably got another half dozen or so verbs, including the stuff loaded with my DAW's, but I keep coming back to IK's CSR.
I think the problem with RP is the timing of it's release. At the same time it came out there were several other very sexy releases, including Aether, Redline, Eos and others that got quite a bit of attention. Surprising since RP is an established dev, but it just got lost in the crowd. Nice to hear that this is a real contender though. Can't wait to try the demo.
Cheers

I always really liked the reverbs in the RP synths so I'm not surprised if RP-Verb is one heck of a smooth reverb.

For me, it is the use of Syncrosoft....BERFAB wrote:I think the problem with RP is the timing of it's release.

+1 for this thought. Within a short space of time there were a bunch of releases of what seemed to be really good reverbs. Of the ones you mentioned, I only have Aether and Redline. I really love Redline but was unable to use Aether until the recent update. Once I tried it I was amazed by the quality. In some ways Aether feels like a work still in progress... which really most software is anyway. I'm looking forward to the next update, which promises to be even better; also, the new gui seems nice. Cleans things up just a little.
CPU is a concern to me because to be honest, I don't have the latest and greatest mega core monsters. Aether is do-able but a bit more than I prefer. I'm saving up my money for a new studio computer, so that won't be an issue in the future.
But I wonder how the cpu usage will be for the Lexicons.
On the RP... how is the gui on a laptop? Compact enough to fit comfortably?
On Audio Damage stuff... I almost wish there was a way to demo it. I can understand them not wanting to release a demo that might get cracked or something. I wonder if they could put something on the try sound place. Maybe that would be too cost prohibitive. The Audio Damage items are all priced low enough that I'm almost willing to take a chance on stuff. Besides which, their things are usually of high quality and it seems most people here have really good things to say about them.

Well, they do have an unconditional money back guarantee, so while it may not be quite as convenient as a demo there's not much risk-taking involved.Sequent wrote:The Audio Damage items are all priced low enough that I'm almost willing to take a chance on stuff.

You may be right. I did not know that syncro was involved. Not an issue for me as a Cubase user, but I know a lot of others are not big fans.John-E34 wrote:For me, it is the use of Syncrosoft....BERFAB wrote:I think the problem with RP is the timing of it's release.

Are the RP synths also syncro protected?

I thought you said syncrosoft was fine, particularly on a mac. It was PACE you had an issue with.ttoz wrote:yes all syncro.BERFAB wrote:You may be right. I did not know that syncro was involved. i HATE syncrosoft, particularly on mac, but let's give RP credit.. they provide you with TWO activation codes, and you don't need an actual DONGLE.. they use the software version by option..
so at least they are flexible...
I actually installed the Nomad Factory producer pack with syncrosoft on your recommendation, and haven't had any issues.
