seriously though, thats probably the only thing missing on the present eq line and the market doesn't offer too many options
What about a DDMF match eq?

Yeah, different.Cooker wrote:exactly! but different
But how were you thinking different?

I think curve eq can be a nice reference even though it has its weaknesses.
Basicly, simplifying it but making it stronger at what it does (since computers are faster today than when curve eq was last updated)...I don't want to get into detail as then I'd be criticizing voxengo's plug-in
but if the developer is interested I do have some ideas I can share with him

Actually, if you stick to features you'd like to see in a matching EQ, I don't think it would be taken as criticizing other plug-ins in the same category. Besides, my impression of Aleksey is he's always interested in these kinds of things. It's sort of like customer feedback from those who may not even be customers...yet.Cooker wrote:I think curve eq can be a nice reference even though it has its weaknesses.

well...Then I'll go with my "dream" match eq instead of simple
it should give enough idea though probably will be even more complicated than curve eq
let's see,mmm...:
1- an analyzer accurate enough that can work on bass/sub freq.s too. Not super surgical but at least usable.
2- oversampling option
3- No need for gear responces and such (just use nebula
)
4- Option for L-R to be analyzed-matched individually
5- hidden saturation (probably smoothing type stuff) option with a rate for the used bands (can be interesting). Note that I'm not mentioning overall saturation, only the changed freq.s will be affected.
6- optional analyze time by time entry option (like the length of a song...) to get more detailed results
7- BIG window
8- after match process, instead of open a new plug-in for additional eq'ing why not use the same one? so it can be much more comfortable going back and forth. Like after process is done, click something and a fresh window opens but sound is preserved. New window can start like a parametric eq "view".
9- love har-bal's peak, geometric and power plots. Makes so much easyer to judge how far things can go or whats needed where (very ear friendly). Would be nice to see something like this in a plug-in eq.
10- I actually like those "dots", very logical but they suck at fixing sharp edgest or valleys. Instead of evenly spread why not increase as freq. goes higher? (and more of them please)
11- hidden option to match only between selected freq.s
12- eq that can go between min-phase to linear phase (like ddmf or 112 db eq) would be awesome. But splitting both is also cool.
13- wet-dry knob (every plug-in needs one)
14- having atleast blind control over sub-infrasonic freq.s. Like basicly boost or cut them with a curve or value entry.
...ok thats probably enough for now and I'm bored of writing
for things I forget, think curve eq
seems my dream match eq will cost more than a DAW...

Wow, you have given this considerable thought! I hope any number of developers, including DDMF's Christian, read this and choose to take on the challenge. My large collection of EQs would be enhanced by the one you've described in detail.Cooker wrote:well...Then I'll go with my "dream" match eq instead of simpleit should give enough idea though probably will be even more complicated than curve eq

I'd be more than happy if someone takes my suggestions serious and bring them to life.eduardo_b wrote:Wow, you have given this considerable thought! They just poped in my head while working on stuff. I mean instead of obeying to what I bought, I tend to curse like: -WHY THE HELL CAN'T YOU DO THIS!!!...
...yeah I'm a wonderful person to work with hehe

Very good ideas, Cooker! I might add a morph slider. So that you can have some or even more of the matched curve applied. But that's already included in the Curve eq concept, right? Didn't work with it for some time now ...

yeah and its stepped which is good, some other plug's have it too. I do think a dry-wet parameter used with that can help too if things go harsh but you want to keep it tight as possible. I'm not sure if it can work but like the "idea" 5, being able to change phase subtly might work on taming harshness (distortion) too. 1 more thing came to my mind,
15- option to analyze "peak" responce of L-R and fix only the differences (a % knob type thing would be needed for this too).
