I will try it again, though I don't remember which version was the last that I tried. I know for sure that it definitely wasn't my favorite for small spaces, and didn't do anything for me on vocals. Not that it CAN'T sound good, but it sure didn't stand out to me as special in that area. It DID stand out for me as an ambient verb, and I know this is something I've heard from others as well(obviously, not everyone will share the same opinion, but at least I know I'm not totally crazy!).JeffSanders wrote:I make dark and organic acoustic music, and find AAR to be bad ass. Nothing compares to it for me. And if you haven't tried it since the 1.5 update, do yourself a favor and try it again.
It's better at small spaces imho - and the mystical spaces it does so well sound even better to me...and Brok also tweaked out some superb presets for it.
You mentioned the words "dark" and "organic", which isn't the type of stuff I do. I would almost put that into the ambient category though. There are different types of "acoustic" music, of course. So the lines are a bit blurred. I do mostly pop-rock/orchestral/inspirational/etc., or whatever you call it. Singer/songwriter type of stuff as well. So very different than what you do, which may be why it works better for you?
Of course, there is always the case where some things just click better than others with some people.
I'll try it again shortly, since I wouldn't mind doing some side by sides anyways. But I don't know if my system will let the demo be installed again or not. Did they reset the demo time limit(or whatever the limitations are) with a newer version?
