"Laurie Anderson - Big Science"

That's a blast. So is Mister Heartbreak. I saw her live and it was great.
Swing is the difference between a drum machine and a sex machine.

Of course, my opinion isn't yours, but I'd certainly recommend all of them as a good listen. PLus, they've sold a couple of copies between them in their time...

Also deserve to be mentioned:

"Darklands", The Jesus & Mary Chain
"The Köln Concert", Keith Jarrett
"Beyond the Missouri Sky", Pat Metheny & Charlie Haden
"Danelectro", Yo la Tengo
"The Drop", Brian Eno
...

many others I can't remember right now.
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

Wow, I could listen to plenty of records with you guys and not suffer at all- lot's of great taste, IMO of course!

I think "best of" should be something like, best of in this kind of spiritual realm, or that one...

Whipped Cream and Other Delights

Starsailor (Buckley) and Tilt (Walker).

Oistrakh doing Bartok Violin Concerto No. 2 (kind of in the Tilt realm, this one).

these come to mind.

Studio Tan, Frank Zappa

It's hard to describe how good this album is, hyuk hyuk!

Eh?

Are You Shpongled? and Nothing Lasts... wipe the floor with Tales, IMHO. Don't get me wrong here, Tales is not a bad album at all, I just find it a bit odd that people almost everywhere prefer it over the other two albums

Are You Shpongled? is simply a legend.

I don't know, the list changes from time to time. Right now I'd say:

Tubeway Army - Replicas
Small Faces - Ogden's Nutgone Flake
Ramones - It's Alive
Ian Dury - Do It Yourself
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Kaleidoscope

As was your earlier mention of 'An Electric Storm'. Nothing else like it. Ever.
