.....( Total votes.. 19, total points.. 399 )......

Only area of change re. places, Sputonix draws clear of Splashdown and leafrogs Science.
The top 4 benefit once again, but it looks like a gap has opened up between 2nd and 3rd.
Stairway is now very much threatening Someplace Safe for that top spot.
Theres a clear battle for 3rd and 4th between Telemetry and Korolev's, Similarly 5th and 6th is tight, and below that ... well anything could happen!

Looking forward to more votes arriving folks ..... bring it on! :)

Ok, so here's my vote - just in time as usual ;-) Very tough decision due to the high quality of all the entries and wide variety of musical styles, but here goes:

Stairway to Taurus - 10
Approaching to the Unknown - 5
Someplace Safe - 3
If Ye're Abel, Ye're In - 2
Korelev's Idea - 1

Cheers,
Glyn

Tattimannie, thanks for the vote!

In 3 OSCs, I haven't touched upon percussion (so have not had to put in as much work as the other contestants in that regard), but have instead built percussionless, 'bridge' pieces to connect together songs from an album.

So, this OSC entry - bridging between 'Rubber Room' and 'Raven Witch Woman' - needed to modulate from f minor to e minor.

It starts out with a loose rendering of the progression from 'Rubber Room,' then goes into the 'center' or 'chiptoon' part; then ends in 'getting ready' for 'Raven Witch Woman.' At the ending, you can faintly hear the 'bass note' going through the progression of the upcoming song.

In the center or chiptoon part, it's in a sort of key called 'e near minor' or somesuch. It's basically a takeoff on the traditional, i iv VII III VI ii(dim) V (or v) i. The thing is; there is no 'e' note; at least not until the very end do some e-notes get thrown in. The thing is in 'e' but it never plays an e note.

instead the scale is e-flat, f# g a b c d e-flat. So, the e-flat is the raised 7th (d#) of the e harmonic minor scale. but it neither throws out the natural 7th (d), nor does it ever touch upon the actual 'tonic' or e note. That's why i call it 'near minor.'

It could be listed in the 'guitar grimoire' by some other name, but it sounds like 'near minor' or somesuch to these ears.

Anyway, I have a lot of fun with these contests, and am astounded at what other contestents arrive at with their entries.

yada yada

My vote allocation:

Stairway to Taurus - Yeager (10 pts) Outstanding track all around. Love it.
Someplace Safe - Mac of BIOnight (5 pts) Epic piece, fantastic.
Splashdown - Tattiemannie (3 pts) Great variety of sounds, jaunty tune really captures the wonder of space travel.
Sputonix - Rsmus7 (2 pts) To me, has a relentless, menacing, "whistling past the graveyard" kind of vibe. Not even Halloween yet!
Mr. Me - Mr Me. (1 pt) Deserves at least this point - for having the most obnoxious, abrasive lead instrument! Cool!

Looks like I'll need that ninja's phone number, after all...
