I want to join this compo.
I wonder if all FX must VST.
I already made a track which uses a native HP filter (for removing subsonic bass & DC) effect for Buzz (my host for the song).
I want to add a native buzz delay too, and maybe a reverb.
All FX can be downloaded at www.buzzmachines.com
If its not OK Ill look for VST alternatives.
Thanks,
xenobioz

Cool dnekm
Xenobioz .... I think we can allow the use the native EQ ....particularly for the purpose you specified..... I think every host has native EQ at the mixing stage which it would be silly not to use.... so I dont really see a problem.
However, it would be best to use VST for everything else.
The rules state that the Fx should be freeware, and easily available. But also, all fx should be usable in a wide variety of hosts .... so if the buzz delay works in Cubase/FLS etc, then you can use it. otherwise, you need to stick to Vst.
Hope that helps ... welcome to the OSC

Ok, so Ill use the kjaerhus classic series plugins.
And if you know any good VST filter with HP, I could replace the native buzz plugin too, although you already said it was ok with the buzz one.
Thanks!

Heh, shouldn't be any difference. Depends more on who is making the music I think.
Also Buzz now has a Piano Roll, though still in a very early stage.
Any synth can also have their own custom pattern editorn, like one called sine synth where you draw the frequency of the sine wave instead of entering notes.
But yeah Ill use the tracker in buzz, not the new PXP one though which is more advanced.
I'm also interested in what others can make with just one synth.
I never heard any of the songs from the older OSCs so its going to be interesting.

Welcome to the fun, you've picked a nasty little VST to start with - sometimes Tattie gives us an easy ride but when we're bad...Xenobioz wrote: I'm also interested in what others can make with just one synth.

tattiemannie, the Flex-n-Stein 4 is cool.
The only thing is to suggest a slight tweaking to the interface. As it is, there are a series of '(B)' after each control on the 'B oscillator/channel.' Maybe instead you could put 'A' and 'B' on the far left of each overall row of controls and dispense with the (B) after each control label on the 'b row.'
Anyway, it's got a lot of possibilities.

And here's mine:
A nice uplifting, jolly track called : All tricks no Treat.
15 Gargoyles, and my PC started to puke, so there was no room for a Treat !
Fx :
1 x BootEqmkII
1 x ADT
1 x Jb Omniverb
1 x Catdelay 1.13
3 x Classic Chorus
Master :
1 x CLAS
1 x VoxengoMSED
1x Tls Maximizer.
Some trackEQ, some automation (Pan, volume).
Happy halowe'en !

Excellent!!! Cheers for the submissions guys!!
Cheers for your comments mrblitz000 ... what you suggest is exactly what I started with, but I thought it looked kinda clumsy. However, I have changed the text size since then, so I might reconsider. I agree that the (B) settings thing is not as clear as I had hoped, so I'll have a think about that. having said that though, I think if I had a user guide ready, there would be less of an issue.
Anyway, I now know it works in Tunafish, FLS, Reaper and Madtracker ... so I'll take a look at the interface again and see what I can do.

Hey Mac, I hope you've PM'd the mods .... the witchcraft and skullduggery going on here just aint powerful enough to help
Anyway, I have my track finished, just needs a bit of tweak and torture, and I'll have it uploaded!
Really enjoyed working with Gargoyle ... particularly after the point I relented and declared it my Master! ... things kinda got easier after that!
Ian, if you intend to create a creepier, nastier, more dangerously evil, device, I suggest you call it Old Nick Gryphon! ... true to the topical influence, you could design it to make nice sounds when it's in a mix with other synths .... but when it's on its own, or there are more instances of it than any other synth, then it sounds reaaaaalllly horrible
